Caitlin and Kyle were walking together up to the school. They were talking and laughing, while Kyle flirted with Caitlin over her newly discovered hippy head band thing. "It does not look like a hippy bandana, you loser." she declared giving him a playful shove.

"Yeah, it does." he argued, flirtatiously. They kept exchanging witty comment when Monique walked up to them.

"Hey, guys." she greeted. "Are you still going at it?" she asked. She was obviously listening to their little flirty argument.

"So." they said in unison. Then Caitlin took the upper hand. "We were just joking around." she told her. Skip agreed with a nod of his head in a determine way.

"Right. Well anyway I have a day off tonight. Do you guys wanna go Bronzing, lets say eight?" she asked.

"I have a date with Danny to the Frontera Restaurant tonight. Sorry, Min." he told Monique.

"Oh, well. How bout you Katie?" she asked hopefully.

"I’ve got a date with my family at that new Chinese restaurant with my aunt and uncle tonight. Sorry." she told her sadly.

"Well, that’s fine. You all have dates, so I’m just going to have to get a date too." she declared.

"Angel?" Caitlin asked her casually.

Monique just smiled and looked down at the ground. "We were going out anyway this weekend." she brought her gaze up to look at Katie, "So it doesn’t really make a difference. I was just trying to organize a triple date thing." she sighed and shrugged her shoulders. "It’s just Wesley said that I have to try and keep and look out for Lagos now, and that means most of our dates will happen in the graveyard. So I just wanted everyone to go on one date together, then me and him on one, then off to the graveyard. I mean, what could happen at the Bronze anyway?"

Spike stalked into the deserted factory basement. He had a wide grin on his face, for his arch enemy, Buffy, was vanquished. With Angel in L.A. too, he had the run of the town. Also he got his Drucilla back by telling her that he killed the ‘naughty Slayer’ himself. Life was perfect, they could kill with no worry of Slayers, and tonight’s destination was the Bronze, popular hangout for the teens and college crowd.

"Drucilla!" Spike called to her from the large utility table in the center of a big room. When he didn’t see her come down the stairs he called again. "Darling! We’re all right up there?" he was starting to get concerned.

Then Drucilla, the insane vampire herself, came down the steps. She marveled at the dank crypt like style of the factory basement. "Oh, Spike. This is fairy land." she drifted over to him with an insane grin and her crazy wicked high pitch moaning. He had sat down in a chair so she sat on his lap lengthwise and put her arms around him. "The night air is whispering to me." she said looking off into the distance. "It’s saying that the rolls are changing. Angel is happy again Spike. I don’t like her, let’s kill her."

"Happy? But I thought that the old bloke would be old faithful to Buffy even after death. Oh well. I’ve got the perfect idea." he said looking at the ground as if it were his plan map. "I would think that this new girl is in high school, so she’ll probably be at the Bronze. We were going there tonight anyway, so let’s just kill everyone there. I’m sure we’ll end up killing her." then Dru giggled insanely and he joined her in his British laugh.

It was Saturday night and everyone was freed up. So they all organized a Bronzing night. Monique was going to invite Angel, but he probably wasn’t into the fast dance thing. So it was just the regular crowd. Monique, Skip, Danielle, and Caitlin, and a few guys that join to see if they can break up the group and steel and dance with a girl. They four entered the Bronze and a song that really sucked was playing. So they socialized about where to sit and went to it. The whole time Monique was absently looking for Angel in the crowds.

"...Don’t you think, Minnie?" Danielle asked. Bringing Monique out of her daze.

"Huh?" she asked, dumbly. Snapping her head up to the curious faces of her friends.

"Looks like someone was somewhere else." Caitlin cracked. "What’s it like where you were?" she cracked again.

"I’m sorry. I just thinking about guys." she told them. Getting weird looks from both girls, Skip just pretended he wasn’t listening.

"You were thinking about guys? That’s a weird concept." Danielle said sarcastically. "What do you usually think about?"

"Oh, Come on. You know what I mean. When I say I’m thinking about guys, I’m thinking about Angel. I’m always thinking about him, so that means I’m always thinking about guys." she caught herself, "Was that a sentence?" she asked them.

"Two." Katie said helpfully. Then she looked past her and saw that object of Monique’s affection, Angel. He was just watching her casually. She all of a sudden had a cool idea. "Come on you guys. Lets go and strut our stuff on the dance floor." she said to the two girls. At the same time elbowing Danny in the ribs. Danny saw him too, suddenly realizing what she was saying.

"Yeah, lets lighten the mood." she agreed.

Monique really didn’t get them, but agreed anyway. Also not knowing what brought it on. Oh well.

The song that started up was a really popular one, so they took advantage of the moment. Angel watched as the group got up and headed to the dance floor as a fast jiggy song came on.

//The things you do,
You touch my life line,
So deep in side I,
Never thought I feel for you.
Oh no.

The group started to dance and Monique took advantage and really had a good time. Not knowing the man, Angel, that was watching her longingly.

//No need to hide now,
Open up your mind now,
Let me make it understood.
//

He was thinking about how beautiful she was. She moved so easily to the music and so processionally it gave him shivers. He was to scared to go up to her, so he was quite content just watching.

//Nobody ever said to me,
All of the things we shared within,
Now that I know that you can see,
Let me fill you up.

She was having a great time. Moving her arms and legs to the music. She hadn’t the slightest clue that Angel, her dream, was watching her. She was just hanging out with her friends as they danced too.

//It’s the things you do,
That make me fall,
So in love with you,
You can have it all,
What else can I do,
Nothing left to prove,
It’s the things you do,
The things you do.

She and Caitlin were now singing along to the song. Danielle didn’t know it yet so she just danced. They were laughing and dancing and having a good old time.

She’s beautiful. He declared. He wasn’t letting her go.

//Nobody ever said to me,
All of the things we shared within,
Now that I know that you can see,
Let me fill you up.

It’s the things you do,
That make me fall,
So in love with you,
You can have it all,
What else can I do,
Nothing left to prove,
It’s the things you do,
That make me fall....
So in love with you,
You can have it all,
What else can I do,
Nothing left to prove,
It’s the things you do,
The things you do.

Give me a chance and let me in,
There’s no need to hide what’s there within,
Now that I know that you can see,
Let me fill you up.

The group readied themselves for the climax of the song so they can have one last fast dance part. Angel wasn’t even listening to the song now, he was hypnotized by Monique’s movements. He knew for sure now, that he loved her.

//You got that Midas touch,
I love you more than enough,
Of all the things that you do...

It’s the things you do,
That make me fall,
SO in love with you,
You can have it all,
What else can I do,
Nothing left to prove,
It’s the things you do,
The things you do,
The things you do...

When the song trailed off, the girls were out of breath and Angel had to leave. This is too complicated. He’s been here before. I’m just here to protect her. Ever night she faces mortal combat. Every morning she knew that it might be her last on earth. I’m just here to help her, that’s why I follow her around at night.

Or is that how I excuse that I can’t stay away from her?

Back in the Bronze the girls were now back at their table.

"I should go. Wes wants me to patrol. I’ll catch you guys later." then she got up and waved goodbye and the others said their goodbyes and she left. "Next stop, the graveyard." she mumbled, grouchily. Once again

she was in the cemetery hunting vampires. The Sunnydale Memorial Cemetery, the last on her patrol. She was getting tired of Angel lurking in the shadows. He had been following her the whole time. She knew it, because her Slayer Sense allowed her to sense when someone was following her. She sighed and turned to the tree shadow in which the vampire was hiding. "Oh come on!" she called to him. "You know, I won’t stake you. You can talk to me face to face and not skulk in the shadows the whole time!" with that she saw his step from the his safe hiding place and walked up to her, cryptically. "That’s better." she said as her came within earshot that she didn’t have to shout. He walked right up to her, he couldn’t stop himself.

"Look," he started. "This is wrong. I’ve done this before and it ended bad. This can’t..." he trailed off as her face turned into a mask of hurt.

"Ever be anything. I know. But I thought we were going to give it a try. Even though it might never work, it’s at least worth it. Don’t you think?" she asked him. Her eyes getting watery. And a single tear found it’s way down her cheek.

He couldn’t help himself and her absently walked closer to her and cupped her cheek to wipe to tear away with his thumb. He didn’t know how to answer her question. He loved her, but he wanted her to have a normal relationship. He didn’t want to stick her with him. "I do, but I did this to Buffy and I don’t want to do this to you." he told her. He was still unable to move his hand away from her cheek. They were still moving closer together. Then they were right in front of each other.

"I don’t really want to say this but, I think I’m in love with you." she told him. He just smiled and caressed her cheek absently with his thumb to wipe away occasional tears that trickled down.

"I think I’m in love with you too." he answered her softly. They were moving in for a kiss. His hand moved to her chin to cradle it as she lifted her mouth to his.

Their lips met in a warm tender kiss. But they let it extend, they couldn’t stop it. All her thoughts vanished, except for the ones of the vampire in her arms. She stood on her tippy toes to get better access. She was glad she was the Slayer because she could stand on her tippy toes forever. Angel wrapped his arms around her back and up to caress the back of her neck. Her hand other hand moved under his arm and to his shoulder. They stayed like that in a major make out session. Their first. They finally broke it off and Monique was the first to speak and state to obvious.

"We’re supposed to be patrolling." her words were labored because she was out of breath and they were still kissing a little. They couldn’t stop.

"Right." he agreed and after a few more pecks, they uncoupled and walked a short ways.

"Do you see anything?" she asked hopefully. She was still panting a bit, one, because that big make out session and two, she could feel Angel right behind her.

"No." Angel told her. He was still dazed from that huge kiss too. They walked as far a crypt and she turned around.

"I think that’s enough patrolling." she said pulling him by his jacket to the crypt wall.

"Yeah." Angel agreed happily as he pushed her up against the crypt and they engaged in another less heavy make out session against it. She was so happy that they were giving it a chance. He was such a great kisser. They continued to kiss, taking breaks for those who require air, even then he was kissing her cheeks and jawbone. They continued long into the night. Patrol was last on their priority list.

Meanwhile, Wesley was looking though his books when he suddenly noticed that a page from his most prized possession was missing. The page on the left was numbered two fifty seven and the page in the right was numbered two sixty. Someone had ripped a page out that had two fifty eight and two fifty nine. "My book." he said sadly, pouting a little. He at once thought that the page contained very helpful materials in some hell raising event that a demon was performing. "I must tell Monique." he concluded and shut his book with a big thump. The thump loosened a page that was hanging out. "What’s this?" he asked himself, then picked it up and looked at it. It was the page he had been missing. He immediately sat down and moved to put the page back in it’s proper spot, when something caught his eye, a picture, or a sketch, of a demon. He looked more closely at it. "Slithez." he said and read the text that was written by it. It read:

‘ Halusa, haluway,
Slithez demonaleah.
Propertain, stanetowa,
Alsoonpeeah.
Demontaloh, Matehuway.’

"Oh Dear." he said. Then he grabbed the page and stuffed it in his pocket and hurried out the door towards the cemetery that the Slayer was probably at. He had to tell her.

Completely oblivious to the ‘big bad’ that Wesley had discovered, Monique and Angel were still ‘going at it’. They were both thankful that no demon-spawn-from-beyond-the-hell-mouth had attacked them. Monique was still pushed up against the wall of the stone crypt as they continue to play who’s tongue is who’s. Suddenly the participants that required oxygen had to pull away. Monique did just that. Panting she looked up at his smiling face, "What?" she asked in her little girly like voice. "Are my lips all puffy, or something?" she asked, bringing her hand up to check.

"Or something." he said, repeating what he had said the Buffy the morning they woke up together after their ‘post patrol nap’. She moved her hand from her face to drop to her side.

"Are you sure you’re lying to me?" she asked flirtatiously. Looking up at him in mock suspicion.

"Very cute." he declared. Then he sensed something, looking around curiously.

"What is it?" she asked, then she felt it too. "Demon?" she questioned, searching the darkness. They were still only a few centimeters apart.

"Yup." he said in a drawn out way. "Very powerful, too. I think should..." he was cut off by a loud hoarse growl coming from the top of the crypt that she was leaning against. They both looked up simultaneously at the sound of it. And looming over them with green leathery looking skin, and a yellow horn in between two eyes that bugged out of his head, and big stiff, wide ears that stuck out of the sides of his bigger-than-normal head, and big flabby red lips, which was were the growl had come from, was their next hell spawn to battle.

"I think that’s our cue the run like hell, no pun intended." she cracked, it was so like her to try to lighten a situation with a joke or by playing with words, like Buffy. *hint, hint*

"Yup." Angel said, in the same tone of voice as the last time. And, as if on cue, they both took off for the library to find Mr. Moron.

They sped through the empty parking lot that only had one car, that looked like it belong to some pompous, British loser. Which it did. They were just reaching the library doors when the Brit man himself busted out, a big withered looking book under his arm. "Wesley!" she yelled at him. The demon was right behind them, on their heels almost. "I think that when you see a demon that’s green and snarly you might want to get the hell away from it!" she finished as Monique and Angel ran and grabbed Wesley and they all sped down the hall to get the big weapons.

Angel and the Slayer brought up the rear to make sure Wesley didn’t get killed, though it was tempting to let that thing get him and tear him to pieces. "Wesley, what the hell is that!" Angel asked as he heard the hell incarnate snarl and gain on them more. They passed the gym door and the demon suddenly jumped and landed in front of them, forcing them into the doors of the gymnasium.

Wesley instantly put on the brakes and ran back toward the two behind him who ran into the gym to get away from the thing. "Why do I get the feeling that thing is leading us somewhere?" she asked as they headed for the emergency exit at the back of the gym.

"Because, my dear," boomed a voice, she spun around to the familiar voice, her eyes widened, "he was." Angel slowly turned to face the demon that had killed his Buffy. Lagos, the child of the first Lagos. Buffy had killed the first one, so in vengeance his son killed her.

Monique noticed that their pursuer had stopped and was standing waiting for instruction. "So, this is the almighty Lagos." she question, critically, "I thought that since you were so powerful that you’d be floating or glowing, or something." she cracked. "So this is how the great powerful new master demon does his trapping." she started to pace pretending to think. "Ok, big green thing from beyond the dark pits of hell to chase the Slayer and company." she surveyed the vampires that were now blocking the exits, "Week, baby vamps to seal them in a impossible-to-escape place," she said as she looked at the big gymnasium. "And then you made the big opening line." she finally said, turning to Lagos with a questioning look. She was scared to death, but was hiding it for the sake of her friend, Wesley, and her boyfriend, Angel. She was glad that Caitlin, or Danielle didn’t decide to tag along on her nightly vamp dusting. "Honestly, I have to tell you the ‘because, my dear, he was’ wouldn’t be my choice, she said placing her hands on her hips in a sign of embarrassment of him.

Lagos seemed enraged by this, "You dare insult me?!" he thundered, it felt like the whole room shook with his voice. He turned to Wesley who was staring up at the demon that was perched on the bleachers high above them. "Watcher!" he boomed, pointing a huge, hairy finger at him, "read your discovery!" he commanded. He was referring to the inscription below the picture of the Slithez, which was what the chasing demon was called.

Wesley brought a shaky hand up to the book and opened it to the marked page, he then cautiously began to read the words. "Halusa Haluway, Slithez demonaleah, Propertain stanetowa, Alsoonpeeah, Demontaloh Matehuway." he read softly and in a very scared wussy voice.

Monique looked very quizzically at Wesley. "And what the heck is that supposed to mean?" she asked impatiently. "I never really was good at different languages." she looked from Wesley, with a sheepish look on his face, to Lagos, with a authority cloud over his face, then finally to Angel, who knew exactly what that meant. "Angel?" she prodded.

He looked up at her with a ‘something face’ on. "The language is an ancient forgotten language that a tribe of demon hunters spoke..." he trailed off, seeming to look sad. Monique thought that he was bad when he encountered them. She started to walk closer to him, coaxing him to continue. "It translates roughly to: The Strong The Mighty, The Slithez hell demon, Abducts them to it’s master, The Evil Fighter, Devil Demon’s Revel It." When he was finished, Monique stopped in her tracks. "Roughly." he reminded her.

"So," she began, "I die, and the world of bump-in-the-night-things go yippy?" she choked out. "What is it with Slayers being the only people that demons chase? First the Alcala, now this Slith head, or however you pronounce it?" she was close tears.

Lagos looked disgusted, "The first master killed you, and you lived..." he was cut off by her.

"Hold it right there!" she ordered. "I’m lost here, I would think that if I died, I’d know it. So I think you’ve got the wrong Slayer. There is two of us you know." she said half hopefully, half in confusion.

"The other Slayer is a rogue. She is of no interest to me. I want you to die. You possess the power of the Slayer before you . Her spirit lives on in you. We do not want you to live for you are of great danger to us. That’s the thing abou..." he said, but was cut off by Monique.

"What are you saying? I have the dead Slayer’s ghost in me, or something?" she asked, sort of amused by this. A dead and gone Slayer was in her? Oh please.

"Enough!" Lagos hollered and held out his arms to his sides and drifted down to land right in front of Monique. "That’s enough with your snide remarks! I rule all that has been and all that will ever be." Monique went into a trance, he had the power to hypnotize his victims.

"No!" Angel yelled, and ran to save her, but Lagos held his hand up and he went flying backwards into the wall of the gym with a big smack. He was knocked unconscious.

"Now," he said turning back to the dazed Slayer, "Where was I?" he pretended to think, "Aw, yes. I was about to kill the meddlesome Slayer, once and for all." he concluded and placed his strong hand around her neck.

Just as his fingers closed on her neck, Monique snapped out of it, she wasn’t really hypnotized, she was faking it. She grabbed his arm and got in the position to snap it like a twig. Lagos was stunned, he couldn’t move. "I think that you we were at the part where I brutally kick you demon butt, and kill your little slobbery side kick, then leave." she said and did the final maneuver and broke the creepy guy’s arm is two, with a sickening crack. Lagos howled in pain and grabbed his arm, trying his best to set it. This knocked him off guard and Monique took the advantage, she kicked his in his gut with all her Slayer might and he doubled over with a painful grunt. She took the advantage again and kicked him in the head, knocking him out cold. "Hmm." she simply said, "So much for big bad, huge evil, I’m-the-big-cheese gig." she shrugged her shoulders and looked around.

Sometime during the time in the gym, Wesley had slipped away. The vamps at the door had bolted out after their master was knock out, and Slithez was still standing at attention, waiting for instruction. Angel was unconscious against the wall, hurt, but alive. She realized that Lagos would wake up at any time, and her without demon slaying weapons would have to get out of there, fast. She looked at Slithez, and giggled softly. She could just knock him out too, no, that was too easy. She chuckled again and took in that he wasn’t going anywhere. "This seemed too easy." she whispered to herself. Shrugging her shoulders she ran to go help Angel.

"Darling," Spike called to his ‘pet’, "what is taking so long?" he asked softly, but impatiently.

Drucilla came out of her chamber in tears. "The Slayer." she simply said. "She’s back. The girl my Angel loves."

"She’s dead, Sweet." he told her soothingly and put his arms around her. "I killed her remember?"

"She made a new her." she said and shrank out of his arms and to the ground weeping dryly.

Angel and the Slayer were in his mansion home. They were testing to see if Angel was alright, by sparring.

They ‘fought’ for about five minutes and she got Angel flat on his back. She grabbed the piece of bread, straddling him she thunked it onto his chest where the heart is. "Beat ya again." she claimed.

"Yeah I guess you did." he praised. Then she moved in for a kiss. That grew into a make out session. Then she suddenly broke it off and stood up.

Getting into her battle stance, she said, "Come on, lets try this again. And this time, try to not let me win." he just sighed, and got up. Then suddenly he was tackled by an attacking Monique and they once again were locked at the lips.

Kyle and Danielle, Caitlin and that Jesse, and him and Monique. I guess everyone gets someone.
