Chapter Two
Buffy, Willow, and Xander were carried into the warehouse and chained to the wall.
"Xander are you okay?" Willow asked Xander.
"Well Willow just fine," Xander said in a quiet voice.
"Willow how are you holding up?" Buffy said to Willow.
"I am doing okay. I mean I am not that nervous. Angel or Giles will come and help us. Right?" Buffy didn't answer Willow and that didn't help Willow's mood.
Spike at present though didn't pay attention to the slayer and her friends. He was talking to one of his other vampires. The vampire seemed very excited and was really eager to talk Spike.
When they stopped talking Spike laughed out loud.
"You really have him? By God, I am going to kill two birds with one stone. Bring him in, now. Oh, and boys go out on the town. There is no slayer on duty tonight," Spike said to his servants.
Angel was brought in. He faced was bruised and bloody from the beating that Spikes men had given him. Buffy and Angel held each other's eyes for a second but he was pushed to the floor and chained next to Buffy.
*Angel!* Buffy shouted in her head wanting to help him.
"I never would have thought that the slayer would have been caught so bloody easy, other things on your mind?" Spike said and started to talk to Angel. "Well you obviously did. It only took five of us to take you down ."
Angel looked up at Spike and spat at his feet. All Spike did to this was smile.
"Love, what are you doing?" Drusilla purred as she entered.
Drusilla walked towards the chained figures at the wall and smiled. She moved till she was in front of Willow.
"Ooh Spike look at the little innocent." Spike wrapped his arms around Drusilla's shoulders and kissed her ear. "You can have the slayer but I want the little one." Spike let go and Drusilla crouched down and traced her nail across Willows forehead to draw blood. Willow winced and drew back to the wall. Xander went to hit Drusilla only to yanked back by the chains.
"Naughty, Naughty," Spike shook his finger at Xander. "You know as much as I want to kill the Slayer first I it would be much better to kill you." Spike lowered his head was about to bite Xander when there was a loud noise.
Spike looked up and was thrown across the room quickly by a jump-kick.
"Hey Drusilla, looking a bit pale."
A tall girl stood where Spike had been . She was tall with dark green eyes, perfect curly red hair, and fair skin. The girl wore jeans and a leather jacket and she looked about twenty-one. She smiled and walked towards Drusilla who had fallen on the ground in fear.
"No, no. You are not real. Go away, you are just a dream," Drusilla cried.
The girl smiled and laughed.
"You know William I used to think that you had good taste in women but I guess I was sadly mistaken. Oh and, ah, I hope that you did care about those vamps out there. They got the pointy end of the stick so to say."
Spike finally got up from the floor and started to advance on the red head.
"You know it really is sad to see my work reversed again and again," Spike spat at the redhead and then tried to grab her legs out from under her.
"Well when you don't do the job right the first time…" She jumped and kicked the back of Spikes head.
Spike hit the floor hard and the keys in his pocket fell on the ground. Before he could get up the girl had grabbed Drusilla by her hair and pulled her up.
"Spike you make one more move to me," she took out a stake and held it to Drusilla's heart.
The girl, still holding Drusilla, grabbed the keys on the floor and went over to Buffy and started to unlock her chains. Buffy stared up at her.
*Who is she?* Buffy asked herself in a daze.
After she finished undoing Buffy chains she went on to Willow and Xander.
"Get up and go to the door," she told them.
Willow and Xander ran the door and the girl gave the keys to Buffy. Buffy unlocked Angel's chains and got him to his feet. Buffy supported Angel to the door and the girl backed up to the door holding Drusilla , who was frozen in fear. Checking to see if everyone was gone let go of Drusilla and threw her at Spike.
"Nice seeing you William. I hope we can do it again sometime."
She then ran out of the warehouse following the others. Spike cursed and ran after them but they were already gone.
"Giles, Giles," Willow ran into the Library ahead of everyone else. "Where the hell are you?"
Giles got up from the table that he had fallen asleep at.
"I am right here. What is it?"
"Spike captured us and took us to his lair. He was going to kill us but," Willow was out of breath and had to stop.
"Willow, slow down and talk."
"Giles, I glad you are here something is really big. There was this girl and she saved us," Buffy was in the library and put Angel in the chair.
"A girl. What did she look like?" Giles asked.
"Are you Giles, the watcher?" The girl who had saved them walked into the library and approached them. Buffy, Xander, and Willow stayed back. Even though she saved them no one was sure what she wanted.
"Yes and you are?"
She walked towards Giles and addressed him face to face. "My name is Fiona O'Brandon , the slayer."
"What?!" Buffy gasped.
"Buffy, isn't there a policy that says one Slayer per generation?" Willow asked. Buffy didn't answer Willow.
"Well I guess you can't brag about being the only one now," Xander joked nervously.
"You are Fiona O'Brandon, the Fiona O'Brandon." Giles was staring at Fiona with wide eyes.
"I thought we had already gotten through that." Giles was too stunned to say anything to that. "So I guess that means that you have heard of me?" Fiona teased. She walked towards where Angel sat unconscious in the chair. She looked at him with a sad smile. She quickly looked up at them.
"Buffy," Giles gave Buffy an urgent look. "Buffy, Fiona is considered the greatest slayer who ever lived."
"Well there was always Calyist in ancient Greece," Fiona reminded Giles.
"What do you mean she is a Slayer?" Buffy said once she got past the shock.
"Well, supposedly Fiona was immortal." Giles grabbed a book on the desk and flipped towards the middle. "Here, there is very little on her in this book. It says that she was killed and became immortal by a witch. The book then says that she left England for France after that." After reading that Giles looked at Fiona to elaborate but she wouldn't look at him.
"Well I guess you about summed that up," Fiona said sarcastically to Giles. Willow went down hard in a chair and Xander sat right next to Willow.
"To tell you the truth I always thought you were a legend," Giles said to Fiona.
Fiona took off her jacket and put in on the table. She smiled at Giles. "You deal with 2,000 year old demons and put stakes in vampires in hearts daily and you thought I was a myth?"
"Well it does seem a little foolish now. I have some books in the back that I think I should get. Oh, and Fiona this is Willow and Xander," Giles turned and went to the back of the Library and into a small room.
"Hello, nice to meet you." Fiona said to Xander and Willow.
"Nice to meet you too," Willow finally said after a while. Xander only grunted in return.
"So how old are you?" Buffy asked.
"She's over one hundred and eighty years old," Angel answered for her.
Buffy turned and looked at Angel who had just regained consciousness. *How did he know that?* Buffy asked herself. She walked towards Angel and brought herself down to Angel's eyes. *There was something more in them tonight. A deep shame mixed with his usual sadness.* She moved her hand up to his cheek to comfort him. He couldn't meet her eyes and she let her hand drop.
*I don't deserve her. I always knew it, but I thought I could hide my past. When she finds out what I did she won't want to see me again,* Angel yelled in his mind.
"Angel, how are you?" Fiona asked. "Last time I saw you was in New York."
"I am doing better."
"Yea, I can tell."
"So, you guys know each other?" Xander asked. Xander was in complete shock over what was happening. *And to think that my biggest worry at the beginning of night was if I was going to pass tomorrow's math test.*
"We have known each other for a long time," Fiona answered. "Angel you look pretty bad, Buffy should take you home."
*Am I really that obvious?* Buffy thought dryly.
"No, really I am fine." Angel lifted himself out of the chair and got two steps until he crumpled on the ground. Willow and Buffy ran to Angel and got him into a chair.
"Angel let Buffy help you home," Xander said. Willow almost fainted. It was well known that Xander had had a crush on Buffy. Even though it was pretty much in the past it still was pretty rare to see Xander do anything for Angel.
Giles walked back into the room carrying a stack of books.
"Here are some books I have on immortality. I was always wondering if they were accurate. Do you mind if you would go through them?" Giles asked Fiona.
"Well, I have nothing else to do," She said and grabbed the books. "I am in a bed and breakfast on Porter Street if you need me. Nice to meet you all," Fiona then left the library.
"Did she even say why she was here?" Willow asked.
"Well I suppose it was because Sunnydale is a hellmouth," Giles answered.
"No, I think it was for something else," Buffy said.
"Well I have to go home before my parents get back," Willow announced.
"I will walk you home Wil," Xander offered.
"Sure. Lets go."
Buffy turned and walked to Angel. "I should walk you home know."
"Let's go."
Angel was being supported by Buffy as they walked. Angel's body was tense trying not to notice that Buffy's hands on his back and her warm breath on his neck.
"So how do you know Fiona?" Buffy asked. Angel pretended that he didn't hear Buffy.
*I can't tell her what I did, not now,* Angel thought.
Against Buffy's better judgement she decided to not push the subject further. *I have a feeling that he will tell me later.*
"Well, here we are," Buffy said when they got to the apartment. Angel took out the keys from his pocket and opened the door. With Buffy still supporting him they walked in.
"Here you can just put me in the chair." Buffy angled herself so that she could let Angel down. She was about to let him drop when she stumbled and grabbed Angel to steady herself. Angel was right in front of her, his nose touching her cheek. Her lips had touched his cheek in the stumble and now she was clinging on to him. She looked into Angel's intense eyes and saw that he was staring at her. Then his lips were on hers, his hands pulling her closer into him. Buffy let out a small noise of surprise but then, realizing what was happening, her hands went to his neck. Angel stopped kissing her only to start on her neck and shoulders. Buffy's breath was coming out fast and her hands went through his dark brown hair. Angel came up to her lips again and kissed her harder. They finally parted but they kept their faces close.
*She is so beautiful,* Angel thought.
"Angel."
*I love her.*
"So am I going to see you at the Bronze?" Angel asked.
"You might."
"Well, what if I see you Friday night at seven?"
"Let me think about it."
Buffy moved so that her head rested on Angel's cheek. This was the first time Angel had kissed her since Halloween. She had been busy with school and there had been a lot of vampires on the prowl lately.
"You know I was worried about you tonight," Angel told Buffy.
Buffy decided to play coy. "Me, why?"
"Because I love you." Angel couldn't take his eyes away from her face. He wanted to be with her forever. He had almost forgotten about seeing Fiona.
She had been expecting some sly sarcastic remark. She was completely taken off guard.
*He loves me?!*
Buffy brought her face up trying to find the right words. "I know. I love you." *Well I guess they were pretty simple. Like it was something I had always known. Like I always was sure of what Angel felt. I had wanted to hear that from Angel's lips since I had first seen him.*
Angel cradled her face in his hands and brought her face to his lips. Buffy's lips opened and her hands went up the inside of his shirt. Angel shivered from her touch and pulled her closer. Her blood pounded in her veins and felt herself drop into the chair with Angel on top of her. His hands went up and down her sides. His touch was electric and Buffy had to stop kissing him to catch her breath.
*Oh my god!* Was going right through her head.
"Buffy," he said into her ears.
Buffy then remembered that she had school the next day. "I have to go but I will see you Friday. Besides, you are still weak from the warehouse."
She unwrapped herself form his arms and left him in the chair.
"Good Bye." *I am going to miss you so much.* Angel thought. He reached up and touched her hand. She turned back to him and smiled.
"Bye." Buffy turned and left the apartment with Angel sitting there feeling weak not because of the bruises.
