AUTHOR'S NOTE: This story takes place exactly three months after the first story ends. Cordelia has become an actress and a local LA theater. Buffy and Angel's records have been dominating the billboards at numbers one and two ever since their songs first came out. Both singles, "I Do (Cherish You)" and "Unchained Melody" reached platinum in the frist two months. The story picks up with Angel as MTV's artist of the month. He's doing what's like and interview/concert with about 100 fans the day before Valentine's Day.

The small crowd cheered as Angel walked down the small path to the stage. He smiled brightly at them and continued on his way. Though he looked happy on the outside, on the inside he was dying. The next day was Valentine's Day. And he was alone.

Before he and Buffy broke up, they would spend Valentine's Day together at the mansion. The night would start out with dinner by firelight followed by slow dancing to music coming from the stereo system he had bought. They would then retire to his bedroom where she would change into a white satin nightgown and he would change into black silk pajama bottoms. They would then slide under the covers of his bed where they would hold each other the rest of the night.

He sighed as he stepped up onto the stage. "Yes," He thought. "those were the good times." He sat down on the stool behind the microphone and looked out at the crowd of young, adolescent men and women. The women staring up at him with large eyes and open mouths. The men staring at him in obvious admiration. "I haven't...um..I haven't made any speech or anything so why don't we just start with some questions."

Almost immediately, hands went up. He pointed at a young brunette girl of about 15. She looked around when he pointed to her then looked back at him and pointed at herself. He smiled and nodded. "Yes, you. Come on, stand up." She was handed a microphone and she stood up. She looked nervous. "What's your name?" He asked her. "Jessica." He smiled again. "Hi Jessica. Do you have a question for me?" "Yeah....um....when did you decide to become a singer?" "It was one of my dreams to become a singer. I've always loved singing and I love performing for people." The girl sat back down. Hands went up again and another girl was picked. "Hi. I was wondering if you had the chance to do a duet with anyone, who would it be?" Angel knew the answer to that one right away. "My choice would be Sarah Summers. I mean, she's a great performer, got a wonderful voice and she sounds like a really fun person to be around."

He pointed at another girl. "Do you have a girlfriend?" The question hit him like a ton of bricks. He was expecting to be asked that question but wasn't really prepared to answer it. He swallowed hard. "No, I don't. The girl that I had been with for four years and I broke up." "What was she like?" He smiled as a picture of Buffy entered his mind. "She was the most amazing person a guy could ever wish to be with. She was beautiful on the outside as well as on the inside. She had a giving heart and a loving soul." He looked down at his hands. "You know, I was going to save this for my next album, but since you brought her up, I guess I should let you hear the song I wrote about her." The audience cheered as the lights dimmed and the music started. Angel took a deep breath and started to sing.

"She knew she caught my eye. And that was all it took. Ain't it strange how forever changed, with just one look. The magic filled the night. She touched my soul like no one else. Yes, the way that woman made me feel, left me talkin to myself. Oh oh. You better run for cover. You better hide your heart. Cause once you start to love her, you know you'll never stop. She shines like a diamond, when she walks into a room. She could charm the stars, hypnotize the moon."

Trish flopped down on her bed. Since Angel was at the studio filming a TV show and it was her day off, she had nothing to do. Sighing, she turned on the TV to the show that Angel was filming live. "My choice would be Sarah Summers. I mean, she's a great performer, got a wonderful voice, and she sounds like a wonderful person to be around." She heard him say. Trish thought for a moment. So he wanted to do a duet with Sarah Summers huh? Well, he wouldn't be able to until the tour he had lined up was over as well as Sarah's. But maybe after both of them were done touring, she might be able to put something together.

Back at the studio, Angel thought of nothing but singing. He kept his eyes closed and imagined all the times he had seen Buffy. The scenes and the music were playing over and over in his mind like a music video. All the times that he held her as she cried out her frustration about being the Slayer or just because he wanted to hold her. All the times they kissed. How her lips sent shock waves clear to the center of his being. Did she know that he was putty in her arms at those times? When they would break away, his mind would be so clouded he would have followed her into the sunlight if it meant that he could kiss her again.

"Once I held her close. I knew just where I stood. No, you never get a second chance, to feel so good. Then and there I knew. These words were etched in stone. If you can't feel the power of, the greatest love you've known. Oh oh. You better run for cover, you better hide your heart. Cause once you start to love her, you know you'll never stop. She shines like a diamond, when she walks into the room. She could charm the stars. Hypnotize the moon. You better run for cover, you better hide your heart. Cause once you start to love her, you know you'll never stop. She shines like a diamond, when she walks into a room. She could charm the stars. She could charm the stars. Hypnotize the moon."

The crowd stood up and cheered loudly as Angel finished the song. He stood up and took a bow. he turned to his band and they took their bows. He turned back to the microphone. "One more thing before we leave. Jessica? Jessica where are you?" The flabbergasted brunette stood up. "Why don't you come down here for a minute." She stood where she was, unable to believe that he had just told her to come to the stage. "Don't worry I don't bite."

The crowed laughed and encouraged her forward. When she got to the stage, he helped her up. "Now, I could tell about how nervous you were when I picked you first so," he reached into his jacket pocket and pulled out an envelope. He handed it to her. "Open this up and tell everyone what's in it." She did what she was told and her large brown eyes filled with confusion. "What's in it?" "A number." "And what does it say below the number." "It says, 'call this number to arrange plane tickets and concert tickets for you and your family to my concert in Orlando." Her voice broke on the last word and she started to cry. "Hey now." He pulled her into his strong embrace. "It's all right. Don't cry. I don't expect you to be crying when I see you in the front row at my concert." She laughed and he pulled away. "All right?" She nodded happily and hopped off the stage. Angel took a final bow and the cameras turned off. He turned and walked off the stage.

Unknown to him, he passed by someone who wanted to talk to him. Very badly.

Willow stood as still as a statue as Angel passed by her. She hadn't seen him in a while and she had forgotten just how tall he was. Though she was with Oz, she couldn't help but notice how handsome he was. His hair was shorter, but not so much shorter that it was obvious. The T-shirt he wore minus the usual jacket showed off his more obvious biceps. From what she could tell, his stomach was as flat as always. He had even started to get a tan. A tan? That wasn't possible for him. Was it? She watched as he pulled a pair of sunglasses out of the pocket of the jacket draped across his arm and perched them on his nose, and step out into the sunlight. At first she wanted to scream after him to stop but watched, dumbfounded, as he stepped into the sunlight unharmed and walked down to a waiting car. "How did he do that without getting burned to a crisp?" She wondered.

Buffy was almost in tears as she sat in the back of the long limo alone. Today was Valentine's Day and she had no one to share it with. For the past four years, she had spent Valentine's Day at the mansion with Angel. How she missed the times when he would just take her into his arms and hold her as she cried out her frustrations on his shoulder. Or the times when they would dance at the Bronze or at the mansion. They would only have eyes for each other. Nothing else in the world mattered when they were together like that. And his kisses. Oh god how she missed them. Just a brush of his cool lips would send electric currents throughout her body. And when it was a full blown kiss, she would be so lightheaded she could have sworn that she wasn't standing on solid ground.

All too soon, they reached the recording studio. The limo's driver, Alexander, whom she called Alex, opened her door for her. She hesitated for a moment before stepping out of the car and heading up the steps to Motown Records. Trish was busily filing papers when she walked in. "Ms. Summers!! Hi!! It's been a while!!" Buffy turned to her and smiled. "Too long, Trish." Buffy started to head for the elevator when Trish stopped her. "Ms. Summers!! Oh Miss Summers!!" Buffy stopped and turned around. "What is it?" "I have an idea that I'd like to talk to you about after your done recording if that's all right." Buffy shrugged. "Of course." Trish smiled. "Thanks." Buffy smiled back and stepped into the elevator.

Buffy threw her leather jacket across the back of the cowhide chair behind the microphone and curled up in the chair. She positioned the microphone to where she could lean back into the chair and still be heard clearly. She waited for the producer who was behind the glass to start the music. She heard the piano start and took a deep breath to calm herself.

"If there were no words, no way to speak. I would still hear you. If there were no tears, no way to feel inside. I would still feel for you. And even if the sun refused to shine. Even if romance ran out of rhyme. You would still have my heart until the end of time. You all I need my love, my Valentine."

Angel took his copy of the Motown Recording Schedule out of the glove box. He needed to decide when he would be able to come in and record his new album. As he was skimming through the pages, his eyes fell that day's schedule. Someone was scheduled for 8:00 that morning. The initials were S.S. He thought a moment and came up with only one person who had those initials. Sarah Summers. Buffy. He looked at his watch. 9:05. They were a mile away from Motown Records. He called up the driver. "Take me to Motown. Now." The driver nodded and turned toward Motown.

At Motown, Buffy kept singing. "All of my life, I have been waiting for. All that you give to me. You've opened my eyes. And shown me how to love, unselfishly. I've dreamed of this a thousand times before. In my dreams I couldn't love you more. I will give you my heart, until the end of time. You're all I need my love, my Valentine. And even if the sun refuse to shine. Even if romance ran out of rhyme. You would still have my heart, until the end of time. Cause all I need is you, my Valentine. You're all I need, my love. My Valentine."

The people behind the glass clapped their approval as she finished. "I think we've got it." Said the producer through the speaker. Buffy smiled. "Are we done for today?" She asked. The producer nodded. "Yep. That's all. This song will be out on the airwaves by 7:00 tonight and you'll have another single on your hands."

Angel opened the door before the driver stopped the car. He saw the other limo waiting across the street, took the steps two at a time and charged through the door so fast that Trish physically jumped out of her seat when he came through the doors. He charged toward the elevators without saying hello and within seconds was on his way to the recording floor.

But just as the doors to his elevator was closing, the doors to the elevator next to his was opening. Buffy stepped out of the elevator and looked at a dumbfounded Trish who was staring at the elevators. She raised an eyebrow at her but didn't say anything. Only when Buffy was standing at the edge of her desk did Trish take her eyes off the elevator.

"You wanted to talk to me about something?" Buffy asked. "Yeah. Um..I have this idea that I got from another one of our new stars. I'm sure you've heard of him. Angel?" Buffy's heart skipped a beat at his name. "Yeah. What about him?" "Well, he said that he wanted to do a duet with you. And what I was thinking was that you could fly down to his concert in Orlando and surprise him. Or if you don't want to do that, I understand." "Oh I want to do it. I've wanted to do a duet with Angel for some time." Trish's eyes lit up. "Really!?" Buffy smiled. "Yes, really." "Great!! Now all we have to do is clear it with Mr. Dupuis and we're set!!" "What? Angel isn't going to know?" "Nope. I want it to be a surprise."

As the door opened, Angel rushed into the hall and headed to the recording booth. There was no one there. No one except for two people in the booth. "Where's Ms. Summers?" Angel asked. They turned to look at him. "You just missed her. She got in the elevator about 2 minutes ago." Angel nodded a thank you and ran back to the elevators.

Trish couldn't help but jump again as Angel came out of the elevator. "Woah Angel. Slow down!! Why are you in such a hurry?" "Did Ms. Summers just come by here?" "Yes she did. Her limo already left. Why?" "Just wondering. I really wanted to meet her." "Well, I'm sorry you missed her." Angel looked past the clear glass doors and into the street where Buffy's limo had been sitting. "So am I, Trish. So am I." He whispered.
