The different angles in this game took me a very long time to get used to. There was a couple spots early in the game that I spent hours trying to find the path because the perspective was confusing. The trade off was how much more real the game looked compared to previous Final Fantasies, raising the bar for feature titles.

In addition to the game itself was chocobo breeding and racing, basically an entire other game within the game. The best part was as a reward for breeding the highest level of chocobo, the gold chocobo, you get access to the island with the Knights of the Round materia, the strongest summon in the game! It took me a total of about 8 hours of breeding and racing to finally breed a gold chocobo.
