Depth Charge |
When peace on Cybertron was ended by the beginning of the Maximal and Predacon civil
war, many Transformers were left without faction.. wanting no part in either war. They were called the Citizens. They lived relatively peaceful lives, without squandering and fighting within their localized communities. Their main goal was to spread their views of the unity and bond each Transformer has to each other through the matrix, and the teachings of Primus. They longed for peace, but because they would not choose to be Predacon or Maximal, they remained neutral.. and often were obliterated because they wouldn't flee from their war-stricken homes. The Predacons didn't care about their existence and wouldn't hesitate to destroy them. The Maximals didn't differ much from the Predacons if Citizens got in the way, except for their traits of humanity and empathy.
Finding classified information known only by the Tripredacus council, Depth Charge learned of Protoform X's whereabouts. He stole a space shuttle fitted for the late Ravage's successor, and fled Cybertron activating the Transwarp cells and traveling back in time. Depth Charge landed on Earth meeting the stranded battalion of Maximals... and Rampage.
Depth Charge paid the ultimate price for his vengeance, and died.. destroying the one thing he hated the most... Rampage.
To change the hatred and the ways the Citizens were treated, one volunteered to help construct the new clone of Optimus Prime.. named Optimus Primal.. secretly entering data into his mainframe that would incorporate the views of the Maximals AND Citizens
to make the new Maximal leader understand their ways of peace.
Meanwhile, back on the cybertron moon city named Starbase Rugby. A young Citizen was being raised and tought the ways of Primus. Mostly laughing and sneering at the information he was downloaded, the young robot was considered a "Bad Seed", a hulking piece of metal, and most simply called him the,"Bad Spark". He was known as Depth Charge. Always questioning authority, and pushing others temper to the limit, he was a
bully, and disliked by many. But through it all, his spark was pure and good. And deep down he simply wanted to be liked and acknowledged by his friends as a good Citizen. One day after finishing his duties, he heard commotion coming from the heart of the city. Screams followed and he rushed to see what was happening. In the center of the town square, he saw a monstrosity that he would never forget. The evil Warlord Rampage.. raising a child into the air and ripping it in half; throwing the parts into other Citizens who stood frozen in awe. Rampage was a Maximal experiment to clone the immortal spark of
the Decepticon Starscream. The result was an insane monster that couldn't be controlled, and couldn't be destroyed. Smashing Titanium enforced buildings with his shoulders and crushing the heads of Citizens with his bare hands, all "Pit" had broken loose. The Citizens were dumbfounded and simply didn't know how to fight back. Depth Charge's instincts told him to attack, but he just couldn't muster up enough courage until he heard a
faint whisper nearby. "Why don't you do something you worthless piece of metal." It was the remains of Depth Charge's most hated enemy Airstrike. "I'm talking to you Bad Spark."
"Why should I help anyone, after what you all have done to me?"
"Because you're a Citizen, and the toughest of us all, you're the only one who can possibly stop this thing."
Standing there and feeling time pass with sounds of screams and screeching metal being torn open like soda cans, Depth Charge was the only one left on Starbase Rugby within a
few clicks.
Suddenly, Rampage spotted Depth Charge and began laughing maniacally. Yelling from the other end of the town square Rampage spoke, "Are you afraid Citizen? Can you feel the fear building up inside of you? You're the only one left aren't you.. and you're all mine to dispose of." With that said, Rampage slowly began to walk towards Depth Charge. Depth Charge held his ground.. not realizing what this monster could do to him.
When the monster was finally upon him, they met eye to eye.. and as if fate had dealt them their cards in advance.. they paused to look at each other right in the eyes. The moment was broken when Depth Charge clenched his fist and rammed it into the side of
Rampages head, denting it and making it spark.
"That's all you've got?" Cried a little voice from below Depth Charge. Looking down he saw Airstrike. "None of this would have happened if you had simply done something! This is all your fault!" With that said, Depth Charge picked up the remains of Airstrike which consisted of one arm, a head and a spinal cord, and said, "Why don't YOU save everybody!" Grabbing his spinal cord with both fists he skewered Rampage through the face using Airstrike as a spear. Just as Depth Charge was about to finish Rampage off, Maximal search jets appeared above and tractor beamed Rampage out of the city, leaving with no apologies, and no remorse.
Fires burned all over the city and seared through Depth Charge's optical sensors..
"Rampage is a Predacon.. and if it's the last thing that I do, I will feel his spark extinguish in my fingers.. and with such force, that it will send him to the Pit riding on a chariot of pain. THIS IS MY VENGEANGE X! I'm coming for you..."
Constantly hunting Rampage.. and being led astray only to find Dinobot 2 on several occasions. They fought countless numbers of times neither satisfied by the damage they could inflict or did inflict, it was a matter of life and death.
One day, Megatron turned the tables by discovering Lieutenant Tarantulas' big secret.. the ancient Decepticon warship "Nemesis" fully refurbished and ready to destroy the Maximals. Though Optimus Primal and Depth Charge had their differences, Depth
Charge agreed to swim to the bottom of the ocean and destroy the Nemesis before it could do any harm. Once there, Depth Charge was about to begin demolitions.. when Rampage showed up. The fight that preceded.. was the last battle either of them would ever have.
Having an advantage with Rampage pinned on the ground and a spear of raw energon being forced onto his exposed spark, Depth Charge gritted his teeth and said, "Raw energon! Right through your twisted spark! TAKE IT! Take it to the Pit you worthless.. piece.. of slag..." Resisting with all his might, Rampage held onto the energon until realizing that if he were to go, he wouldn't be the only one.
Rampage released...
Depth Charge was confused and hesitated, but only for a second remembering what Rampage had done to his home and friends.
The hatred engulfed him, and with all that he was... he pushed the energon through
Rampage's chest.
What followed was an explosion with the force of five atomic bombs under the ocean, which could be felt all the way from the Ark 30 miles away.
Depth Charge left Optimus Primal's mission and ignored his orders, to ensure that his revenge would be satisfied.
