~ Elena Simons In my childhood days the world
seemed young and free.
The sun never went down and
even when I fought with my family
-especially my brother- I remained happy;<
sadness never stayed.
I went wild and free, and flew high.
But the higher you fly,
the farther you have to fall and
so I fell.
Darkness entered my sunshiny world
and happiness, like sadness,
never remained. But I forgot the
rhythm of the world- that light
must have dark,
that twilight must follow day.
And the darkest part of
the night always precedes a golden
dawn. And in that part
of a seemingly endless night an
icy blade touched my wrists, and
I never saw that brightest dawn.
