rkendalens rarely have the desire to set off for adventures in other lands. For all the domain's werewolf problems, the folk view their homeland as peaceful and prosperous place. Nevertheless, the occasional Arkandalen feels compelled to move beyond the domain's borders, usually at a young age. Arkendalen player characters may be fighters, avengers, numenists, thieves, gypsies, artistes or psionicists. Priests of the Narrow Path of Righteousness cannot cast spells, and thus are not suitable for player characters. Wizards are almost unknown in Arkandale, as the people are terrified of witchcraft. Arkandalen characters may devote weapon proficiency slots to firearms, and advanced snaplock firearms are relatively easy—if expensive—to procure. Due to their familiarity with lycanthropes, Arkandalen PC's recieve a +2 bonus to fear and horror checks related to such creatures. Instead of a typical Arkandalen, a player may want his character to be an Ohatchee barbarian or an escaped slave. This should only be allowed with the DM's careful approval, since such individuals are rare in the extreme. Former Arkandale slaves may be fighters, avengers, clerics, thieves or arcanists. Ohatchee players characters may only be rangers or caretakers.
