hawukay is a female half-elf, standing approximately five feet and five inches tall, and weighing just over one hundred pounds. Shawukay has long black hair, usually worn back in a ponytail or braid, and hazel eyes that take in everything in thier field of vision. Shawukay usually wears leathers in shades of green or tan, to blend in with the forest terrain she feels most comfortable in. Shawukay is fifty-three years old, which makes her look about thirty-five to forty in human terms. She wears only two items of jewelry: a holy symbol in the shape of a unicorn's head, and a small silver pin showing a crescent moon and harp surrounded by four small stars.

Shawukay is fluent in Kartakan, and knows a reasonable amount of Thayvian and Sithican as well. Of course, she also speaks pure Faerunian Common. She wears a headband that acts as a helm of comprehending languages and reading magic, save that it does not confer the magic reading ability.

Background: Shawukay is a native of Toril, born in Evereska to Harper parents. Shawukay's parents died when she was very young, and she was raised by her paternal grandparents, both rangers serving Mielikki. Shawukay went one step further, joining the ranks of Mielikki's priests. Eventually, she went to the temple of Mielikki in Waterdeep, where she stayed until she heard of her grandparents' deaths at the hands of a vampire's minions. Shawukay left the temple in Waterdeep to find her own way. The next few years saw her journey slowly eastward towards Eversult where her grandparents had been killed. During this time, Shawukay apparently joined the Harpers. Over time, she made her mark near Eversult, eliminating large numbers of orcs, goblins and other humanoids. Eventually, Shawukay encountered Aunsulaur, the master vampire responsible for her grandparents' deaths. Both Shawukay and Aunsulaur survived the battle, but both came away from the fight deeply wounded, and Shawukay had been drained of over half her life force. The half-elf later recovered, and went after the vampire to eliminate him once and for all. Although at a lower level of power than before, Shawukay left the vampire's lair in ruins, but Aunsulaur escaped once again. She followed his trail into a fogbank, and emerged from the Mists into Ravenloft.

Current Sketch: Shawukay had been in the Demiplane for nearly thirteen years, spending most of that time in Kartakass. Unknown to her, Shawukay's hunts for undead have attracted the attention of the Lord of Kartakass, Harkon Lukas. Lukas has apparently ordered those under his command to let her be, as her actions serve to keep unwanted zombies and ghouls from growing in number. If she happens to attack one of his wolfweres, however, all bets would be off. Shawukay is slow to trust, and suspicious of strangers. It is very hard to get close to her, and she prefers it that way. Once her trust is earned, Shawukay is loyal, helpful, and vengeful if her friends are harmed. She is willing to sacrifice herself to ensure others survive. Shawukay is a true ranger, but she is more concerned with killing undead rather than orcs, goblins, and kobolds, which seem to be rare in Kartakass. She could be a valuable ally to natives of Toril, especially if they happen to be Harpers.

Combat: Shawukay will normally begin combat with a barrage of silver-tipped arrows from her longbow. The sole exception to this is spellcasters, which she will "attack" with a silence 15' radius spell. Shawukay prefers to make the combat come to her. In melee combat, he usually relies on agility to avoid blows. Her main weapon is Soulreaver, a +2 longsword of disruption (acts as a mace of disruption). She also carries numerous silver daggers on her person (usually four to six) and wears a ring of regeneration. Shawukay's species enemy from her time on Toril is vampires. However, in her case this emnity is more extreme: when confronting a vampire, Shawukay must make an Intelligence check with a -2 penalty. If she fails this check, she enters a berzerker rage. In this rage, Shawukay has a +2 bonus on all attack and damage rolls, and receives a +4 bonus to the vampire's charm gaze. However, she also suffers a +2 Armor Class penalty during the rage.

As a ranger, Shawukay may wield two weapons simultaneously without the normal -2 and -4 penalties to the primary and secondary weapons. Typically, she uses a long sword/dagger combination for this attack. When using two weapons in this manner, she may attack twice in a round, once with each weapon. Of course, suffers the standard penalties if she ever wears armor heavier than leather. Shawukay's exceptional skill with bows gives her a +2 bonus to both her attack and damage rolls with her longbow. She can hide in shadows and move silently in a woodland setting as the thief abilities at a 57% and 67% chance respectively. In an urban environment, these chances are halved. Shawukay can calm wild beasts by speaking to them gently, whereupon the animal must save vs. rod, staff or wand with a -2 penalty. If the animal's roll fails, Shawukay can alter the creature's reaction roll by one place.

Like all half-elves, Shawukay has a 30% resistance to sleep and charm spells and infravision to sixty feet. She has a 1 in 6 chance to detect a concealed door merely by passing within ten feet of it, and a 3 in 6 chance when actively searching for such a door. She also has a 2 in 6 chance of discovering a secret door by searching for it. Finally, Shawukay recieves a +1 bonus to her fear and horror checks.
