uring my travels, I sometimes come across markings left behind by a fellow wanderer. Ordinarily, these are merely the personal whittlings of a preoccupied mind; an insignia, initials or design on a tree or stone. Occassionally, though, I find more deliberate signs—signs intended to warn or alert other souls of what lies ahead. Such concern for strangers is rare in our Land, and I always take advantage of any information freely given, no matter how sparse. Rarer still are the odd symbols of the Vistani, which are all but incomprehensible to myself, as they probably should be to any right-thinking person...
