A Meeting
Ah, but alas, does one body ever to succumb
to the trials of this modern life. Unfortunately,
yes. They can be seen in the streets, the parks, the roads. And they fall. All those who have
followed the light, manmade and otherwise. All
clearly seen in the light,
every day, becoming
more weary and bitter of the woes that drag them
trough every day life. Yes, tis a shame.
Not I, though. Darkness falls and the lights begin to fall away, one by one, until only a few
remaining flickers interrupt a sea of black.
I'm new here, but yet, felt I had been here
all my life. My name is Bob, but you can call me
Barnabus. An infamous character of future
past.
Barnabus Collins of Dark Shadows.
Yet, I stray. My dreams, my wants, my desires,
She said, as I read my way through the roadmap
of feelings and emotions before arriving
where
we are now. To say truthfully, I was enchanted
by that vision of beauty when
I first stumbled
across the page. My dreams, my thoughts, my desire's. They are here, for you,
Sirenna.
To walk along the beach. Moving slowly drifting. Floating? The darkness surrounds you,
envelopes you, like a new born child suckling
her mother's breast, and you welcome it.
Embrace
it. The rhythm of the waves crashing upon the beaten shores, begin to eerily sound like
the
voices of the long departed, rhythmically calling,
chanting.
It
lolls you. You raise your head and stare
out into the darkness beyond
the sea. The breeze
tosses your hair repeatedly, steadily, and the
feeling sets in. YOUR NOT ALONE.
I
peered into the darkness, longing to see what, or who, was out there. By this point, I
have
stopped walking the sands and was found perched upon the rocks, where I could better view
the
surrounding darkness and listen to the surf as
it continued to pound the sands. At first, I saw
nothing, and then, there SHE was. This was it.
My every thought, my every dream my every nightmare,
was all about this moment. I knew
that life was on the verge of ending, but I also
knew that it was about to begin. I stood
from my perch and made my way down weathered
stone to the cool, welcoming sands, and I watched
mesmerized as she approached. As she approached,
I noticed how the stars gave way to darkness
behind her.
"Sirenna", escaped from
my lips, barely more than a whisper.
She was upon me now, her milky white, slender
arm, slowly rising to the sky, followed by the cape that had swarmed in the wind behind her.
And finally, total darkness. The sharp, canine
like teeth had already started to introduce
them-
selves into the nape of my neck, and I welcomed
them. I could feel my
life's blood
quickly easing
her thirst and her hunger, and then, darkness.
