Mathias Delamere, 16th Century Wanderer

Allow me to introduce myself.  I am Mathias Delamere, son of Matthew Delamere and Miriam Greene.  My father Matthew is a landowner outside of Chesham, Buckingham, England.  I was born at home on March 27, 1542.

I was baptised and raised Catholic, as my whole family was the same.  I grew up being forced in church to attend mass and even to be an altar boy, which pretty much forced me into choosing to leave the faith and start looking for a different religion, though another one never came.  I decided that God was OK as long as he and I were on distance speaking terms.

I left Chesham in 1558 (more like kicked out) and my father essentially wrote me off.  I am of noble birth by blood but if you were to ask my father about me he would deny my existence.  I have my baptismal records in safekeeping to prove it should an issue arise by it.

I have learned the wanderer's way of life.  I sing, dance, beg, borrow, (steal on rare occasion) and have learned that force begets force.  I won't harm a soul that hasn't done so (or tried, anyways) to me, and really haven't had much to do learning the warrior's way of fighting.  It is an interest, but I cannot dwell on it.

Oh, some of the stories to tell, but I have so little time.  I must be off again.  Sitting in one place is how one becomes lazy, and laziness is a disease fit only for royalty!

Long Live the King!
