When I first joined the Forever Knight list in Dec. of 1997, I was delighted by all the wonderful fiction and people around, I quickly joined the Cousins and NA in support of one of my 2 favorite characters (Lacroix and Tracy.) But there were no Dark Perks at that time, only the regular Perkulators. I posted my first DP story the second day after I had joined, a story called 'Tracy Meets Lacroix' (on my fiction page) and sufficed to say…my Tracy was -not- perky nor bubbly.

I looked around but there didn't seem to be a faction that really suited my interpretation of Tracy Vetter: a strong, independent woman coming to grips with some very complicated issues. So, I started calling myself the "Dark Perkulator," and continued to merrily post my own Tracy stories. Anyway, one day someone started a thread about new factions and I jokingly made this comment:

And all at once I found myself, a relative newbie, a list-mommy of the greatest faction around! I will be eternally grateful for those patient enough to put up with my initial stumbling and inexperience, but mostly I'm just happy to have found so many great people who subscribe to the same brand of humor and tongue-in-cheek darkness that makes up the Dark Perks. **"Dark Perks" kinda sounds like some shady bonus program doesn't it? <g> -I- personally like it, but you can go by the full 'Dark Perkulator' or if your a little too perky for your own good (like my good pal Renee *wave*) You can go around saying your a 'Dark Perkie!' (which is somehow even more sinister isn't it?)
Okay, Though we're primarily for the discussion of Tracy's dark side, I'll allow any pretty much any subject on here. Stay away from excessive swearing or too adult of topics, (pretty much anything you think might make a nun faint is okay, but if it would cause Madonna to get a  little woozy don't post it here okay? <g>) I haven't thought up any formal "rules" yet, but lets face it, you -know- when you're being naughty don't you? Just don't get too bad and we won't have any problems.  I thought we could start by introducing ourselves. Tell the group a little about yourself, any thoughts about how much fun we're going to have exploring Det Vetter's dark side, and any suggestion you might have to make this list extra-special-fun! (yes, that fourth cup o' >coffee just hit my blood stream, I'm gettin' perky dammit <g>)

The Official DP Rules:
 

Well I just got my fifth sheet o' rules today, so I thought I might try some making some DP rules. Here goes: Official Dark Perk Rules of the Week:

1) Don't whistle under water (it annoys the fish)

2) Do unto others as others as you would have done unto you, **Mary pauses, looks at all the innocently grinning Dark Perks holding paddles and whips** Um, Just be nice to each other okay? <eg>

3) Please limit yourself to comments, jokes, lists, fiction, fantasies, little typed pictures that look like head-less bunnies or whatever else peaks your fancy. (I know it's strict but sometimes ya gotta put your foot down! <g>)

4) Don't drink straight from the carton (at least not if anyone's looking)

5) Don't let the cops into the Mansion without a warrant

6) Please refer to Lacroix as "Yummy" heheh, just kidding

7) If you use the Mansion in your fiction, tell me, I wanna read it!

8) A Driver's License is privilege not a right.

9) No white shoes after Labor Day

10) And lastly, and this is the most important one. You can never break this one, Never, or was it Always? Occasionally…Um, er I forgot. <blushes>
