She felt him gently moving away her hair to see her eyes. He leaned closer to her face and gently kissed her on her gentle lips. He felt emotionally pained, trying to hold her forever. But, he knew that the time had come for him to go. He knew that he had to say his last goodbye to her. His emotions wrapped him in a trap of guilt and terror. He feared her death, he feared leaving her. Yet the time had come to indeed leave, and say goodbye. "Will I ever see you again?" she asked, her eyes filled with tears. He delayed his response, drooped and shook his head. "No.." he replied sadly. The cool air of the empty club gave way to her shivering, he held her closer trying to comfort her. "Will you forget me?" she asked desperately. "I will never forget a peach, as fresh as you..." he replied holding her closer. "Then do not leave me," she told him covering his lips with another gentle kiss. He held her away from him. "My time has ended in this life, and I must moved on," he reasoned. "Take me with you... don't leave me behind!" she protested. "Then what is helping the rest of the world?" he asked. "You are the angel of light, as I am hidden in the veil of darkness," he told her. "I cannot live, without seeing you ever again.." she whispered. "I could never damn you into what I am. I would never want to kill you. For you are here for a reason. A reason beyond my control," he noted. "Then let me journey with you," she suggested. "As a mortal." "The relationship would be far too dangerous," he whispered, caressing her cheek. The gentle chimes of the clock rang. " I must go." She sobbed in his arms. "Such a painful experience, for love to be blocked like this, because of our natures!" she exclaimed. "The world is not a fair place..." he trailed off. "Then kiss me one last time before you step out of my light, and return to your lost darkness.." she suggested. The two lovers kissed again, holding each other painfully for the very last time. Life was an unfair course that was now being dealt with. Without another word, the two lovers separated in solemn compromise. He stepped up the stairs and walked out the door of the Raven. Tracy Vetter stared at the door in deep sorrow. Her eyes closed, as she now truly realized Lucien LaCroix was gone from her life.. forever. ~End~ Miranda fleurdebrabant@cybergal.com http://miranda.bradet.com
