Unfortunately,
I've fried a lot of brain cells over the years. My memory is not as good
as I would like, not to mention that I was pretty much toast when most
of this stuff happened!
How
about the time we kinda fried Sharr Watts pretty new white sweater with
the ol' gun powder. For those of you that never partied in the "Darkroom"
let me explain the deal here. You see whenever we brought someone new up
there to party we would put a small pile of gun powder in an ashtray. We
usually had some kind of dim lighting in there and tunes cranked so no
one ever really noticed the small pile in the ashtray, we only put a pile
about an inch or less in diameter in there, but when it lit it would send
a flame about 2 foot in the air for about 3 seconds (it was a rush when
you were stoned and didn't expect it. Well, Sharr laid her cigarette in
the ashtray, which is what we would wait for, but the powder didn't light
right away like it usually did. We sat and waited and she kept reaching
for the bong or something and getting close to the ashtray. We finally
decided that we had better set it off ourselves before something went wrong.
Just as we were going to do it she reached across the table and "POOF"
off it went melting the the fibers on that pretty new sweater and blackening
it. It didn't hurt her at all and she said "don't worry it'll wash out".
WRONG we just looked at each other and laughed. There was no way that was
going to wash out!

I
remember how we used to torment Byrds mother with a friends car!! You see
we had this friend "Bruce the goose" and he had a big old '60 something
Chrysler Newport. So if we were out driving around and got bored, ( or
drunk or stoned)and just happened to be near thier house, we would mess
with her. As we got near the house we would all duck down in the car, even
Bruce the driver. Then we would drive by very slowly and honk the horn.
You see what made it funny was she would look out the window and this car
would be driving by with no one in it, not even a driver! But that was
never enough for us, so we'd drive down the street and turn around then
come back in the opposite direction.Doing the same thing all over again.
But that wasn't enough either, so sometimes we'd pull right in the driveway,
Bruce steering the car while he's laying down across the seat hiding. Well
we'd sit there for a minute then back out and be on our way. Laughing.
Sounds kinda silly now, but it kept us outta trouble!! (i hope byrd finds
this amusing). |
