The sky is getting darker
I feel cold inside
Not the jubilant warmth of others
On this day of pride.
The sun is getting lower
Lighting up the lands;
Rolling hills, illustrious mountains
'Neath a sea of golden strands.
This land is as it is
By the hands of those before us
Fighting, dying, giving their all
So we could be free and joyous.
As they fought for this our country,
We fight for planet Earth.
A secret battle but deadlier still,
A war of enormous worth.
The fireworks begin,
Brilliant bursts of red and blue.
They remind me of the bullets that killed
That flashed, that reached, that flew.
Our war is not that open,
They'll stay out of your sight.
The Yeerks are a silent threat,
Invading us with an unknown fight.
Their fight is with our one weak army,
We six teens grown up too quick.
Our world's fate rests on our shoulders,
A burden we were forced to pick.
They fought to bring our nation's birth,
We fight to save human kind.
They won their fight, as all can see.
When will we have our day of pride?
