As I sit here
Watching my sister play
As I wonder at her innocent fascination
Wondering if I too was that way.
As I lie here
Listening to her giggle
I wonder if I could ever be that
way again.
As I eat breakfast
Listening to mom joking
I wonder if jokes will ever be funny
again.
As I tear out the throat
Of the simple Hork-Bajir
I know they won't be.
