My opinion of the TV show
First, let me say one thing that pretty much
sums up the entire TV show.
It is NO WHERE near on par with the books!
There. I said it. Now onto the
specifics.
What is it with the dramatics? It's like,
omygawd Chapman's a
Controller! Let's show a minute of
leg-scratching with steel-toed boots!
What happened to "save their heads for
identification"? Which brings me to
ANOTHER problem, the scripts would be funnier,
longer, and more exciting if
they used the books as a script. Plus, they
could cut some of their writers
and make more money. But back to the
overdramatics. How 'bout the
Andalites clamping down the ship, there's a piece
of overdramatics if I ever
saw one! Then there's the aliens. You know, the
guys in rubber suits? Did
anyone else notice that Elfangor's stalk eyes
bobbed when he
overdramatically clamped down the ship?
Now onto the acting. The Tobias guy is okay.
Y'know, kinda detached
and stuff, but that's who Tobias is. Marco's
actor is cool. Plays the part
great, I think. Nice and silly, but with the
undertone of seriouseness
(well, maybe not THAT much seriousness, it could
be better) Jake is
allright too. We have yet to see him with that
"what to do, I'm the leader,
I could get everyone killed" look. Then there is
the girls. Who, to put it
as gently as possible, suck. In general. Rachel
is too short. They manage
to make every line seem as odd and detached as
possible.
Rachel reminds me of another vice. The
Animorphs are, most definately,
not highschoolers. Why? Because Rachel is
supposedly taller than the guys,
which only occurs during middle school. Believe
me, I know.
Good things? Well, the Blade ship was nicely
done.
