Back Into the Throne Room

You tiptoe softly down the winding marble stairs and into the throne room again, hoping to catch a glimpse of that outlandish fellow. As your eyes scan the room you find only space smiling there. About to turn around and leave, you're startled by a tug on the sleeve. You look down, way down in fact, to stare into beady little black eyes, half hidden by a horned helmet that's obviously far too big for this little simian creature. Its pug nose and rough scattering of mousey brown fur makes it an altogether comical site. You can't help but burst into a fit of chuckles. The goblin doesn't seem to be bothered by this. You assume he must be used to it.

Ye dropp'd this here.

The little beastie mutters into his armor that nearly covers his mouth and hands you a pendant. You didn't drop this, you weren't even wearing a necklace. The necklace is simple. A large horned pendant with an oval ruby set in its center, hung from a leather cord. Hmmm...curiouser and curiouser isn't it? With a shrug you put it on, surprised by it's weight as you tie the cords around your neck. Ok...so he's not here. But wait...You glance at the goblin who's still standing beside you looking rather awkward. Why not ask it? So you do. The little creature shifts its helmet grille that since has fallen down again and scratches a stubby finger to its scalp.

Yer lookin' fer Jareth...Oye mean..his majesty?

So that's his name. Jareth. It has an odd ring to it, but it isn't unpleasant. You reply an adamant yes to which the guard shrugs, rattling his armor.

Oye think 'e went upstairs. Mayb' in t'dungeon. Don't know.

With that, the goblin scampers away to some unspoken call. Ok, choose your path then.
