Love Poem for a Priestess

Her eyes were emeralds

Which sparkled as they stare

How I long to touch her so

Such feelings I could not bear

She speaks to me as if an angel

Did God send one to me?

Probably no, probably yes

Yet she makes me soar high the mountain’s crest

I speak ill and she cries

I should laugh if she’s ‘fraid of mice

But I could not do it anymore

Maybe I can’t bear seeing her eyes sore

I want to feel her near me

I want to kiss her suddenly

But soon, she and I again must flee

To a new place and travel happily

If ever we should part

Without me learning to steal her heart

Then heaven forbid, I should say,

God, take my life, I should die anyway

Whoever sees this should know

That even an evil heart may learn

Yet it’s hard for me to show

If she is not paying any attention

Yet let it be this way

I don’t care, I won’t pray

As long as she’s here, it’s okay

And by her side I’ll always stay…
