SEASON TWO
2X01 LITTLE GREEN MEN
A signal from outer space sends Mulder to an abandoned Puerto Rico SETI site. Scully is close behind him, but the UFO clean-up squad is following her.
- Mulder-- I wanted to believe, but the tools have been taken away.
- Mulder-- No-ho on the rojo!
- Mulder-- Four dollars for the fist hour is criminal. What you've got better be worth at least forty-five minutes.
- Mulder-- I still have you.
- Scully-- That would be bad for the fish.
2X02 THE HOST
Mulder and Scully team up again to work on a strange murder case, where the main suspect is an anthropomorphic fluke worm. Skinner reopens the X-Files. - Mulder-- You know, they say three species disappear off the planet every day. Makes you wonder how many new ones are being created.
- Mr. X-- Reinstatement of the X-Files must be undeniable.
- Scully-- Is this seat taken?
Mulder-- No, but I should warn you. I'm experiencing violent impulses.
Scully-- I'll take my chances.
- Mulder-- There's nothing!
Scully-- There's a dead body, isn't there?
- Mulder-- This isn't where you tell me some awful story about sushi, is it?
Scully-- Would you rather hear what you can catch from a nice, rare steak?
2X03 BLOOD
A pest repellent may be causing psychotic, homicidal behavior marked by damage to electronic devices in a town's population.
- Cell phone-- (printed message) All done. Bye Bye.
- Frohike-- So Mulder, where's your little partner?
Mulder-- She wouldn't come. She's afraid of her love for you.
- Mulder-- You know, Frohike, its men like you who give perversion a bad name.
- Mulder-- He's probably one of those people that thinks Elvis is dead.
2X04 SLEEPLESS
Mulder is paired with new agent Alex Krycek while investigating murders committed using the power of the mind.
- Krycek-- Scully's a problem, a much greater problem than you described.
CSM-- Every problem has a solution.
- Krycek-- You don't know the first thing about me.
Mulder-- Exactly.
- Mr. X-- The truth is still out there, but it's never been more dangerous.
2X05 DUANE BARRY
An ex-FBI agent who believes he is a multiple abductee takes several people hostage, and Mulder is his hostage negotiator. Duane Barry is wounded and taken to the hospital. He escapes and kidnaps Scully.
- Scully-- This piece of metal that they took out of Duane Barry, it has some kind of a code on it. I ran it through a scanner. Some kind of serial number came up. What the h*** is this thing, Mulder? It's almost as if... it's almost as if someone was using it to catalogue him.
- Barry-- The government knows about it, you know. They're in on it sometimes, right there in the room when they come. They work together.
- Scully-- Duane Barry is not what Mulder thinks he is.
2X06 ASCENSION
Duane Barry takes Scully to a mountain to be abducted instead of him. Mulder catches up to him, but it is too late. Scully is gone, and Barry later dies.
- Mr. X-- No one can help you now. Your channels of appeal and recourse are closed.
- Krycek-- You know Chernobyl, Valdez, Three Mile Island, they were all linked to sleep deprivation. The US Department of Transportation estimates that over one hundred and ninety thousand fatal car crashes every year are caused by sleeplessness.
Mulder-- Do they estimate how many people are put to sleep listening to their statistics?
2X07 3
Scully has not yet returned, and Mulder investigates a trio of vampires.
- Many People-- He who eats of my flesh and drinks of my blood shall have eternal life, and I shall raise them up on
the last day (from the Bible. Noted in the episode as John 52:54, but actually is John 6:54. However, it is of note that the paragraph which contains John 6:54 begins with verse 52)
- Mulder-- (commenting on wanting to live forever) Not if drawstring pants come back into style.
- Dr. Browning-- (after Mulder's comment about beginning to believe in vampires) You're really upsetting me, on several levels.
- Kristen-- Are you going to ask what a normal person like me is doing in a place like this?
2X08 ONE BREATH
Scully appears in a hospital, with no record of how she came to be there, and is on the brink of death.
- Smoking Man-- I told Skinner you shot the man in the hospital, but I didn't really believe it. And here you are
with a gun to my head. I have more respect for you Mulder; you're becoming a player.
- Mr X-- You want to see what it takes to find the truth Agent Mulder? You want to know the things I know?
- Smoking Man-- Don't threaten me, Mulder. I've watched presidents die.
- Frohike-- (on how he got Scully's records out of the hospital) Stuck 'em in my pants.
Mulder-- Plenty of room down there.
- Langly-- We're all hopping on the internet to nitpick the scientific inaccuracies of Earth 2.
- Skinner-- Then what? He sleeps with the fishes?
2X09 FIREWALKER
Mulder and Scully investigate the possibility of a silicon-based life form.
- Mulder-- We're not exactly "proper channels."
- Mulder-- I'm going to find Trepkos.
Scully-- What if he's already dead?
Mulder-- Then he'll have a lot of trouble answering my questions.
- Scully-- I'm back, and I'm not going anywhere.
2X10 RED MUSEUM
Members of a vegetarian religious group are suspected in a strange case in the middle of cattle country, but the truth is that they are only a "control group" for the testing of bovine hormones in people.
- Mulder-- You know, for a holy man, you've got quite a knack for pissing people off.
- Scully-- Kind of hard to tell the villains without a scorecard.
- Thomas-- I'm a sick man.
2X11 EXCELSIS DEI
A poisonous mushroom-based medication may be causing spirit manifestations at a nursing home, and one spirit appears to have raped a nurse.
- Mulder-- Whatever tape you found in that VCR, it isn't mine.
Scully-- Good, because I put it back in that drawer with all those other tapes that aren't yours.
- Mulder-- Are you saying that the building's haunted? Because if you are, you've been working with me for too long, Scully.
- Scully-- Mushrooms aren't medication. They taste good on hamburgers, but they don't raise the dead.
2X12 AUBREY
A serial murderer appears to be striking once more, in the form of his granddaughter, a policewoman.
- Mulder-- During their time, Chainey and Leadbetter's ideas weren't very well received by their superiors. Using
psychology to solve a crime, was something like, um...
Scully-- Believing in the paranormal.
- Scully-- I seem to recall you having some pretty extreme hunches.
Mulder-- I never have.
- Mulder-- I'd like to know why this policewoman would suddenly drive her car into a field the size of Rhode Island and, for no rhyme or reason, dig up the bones of a man who's been missing for fifty years, unless there was a neon sign saying "dig here"!
- Scully-- The man we're talking about is seventy-seven years old.
Mulder-- George Foreman was forty-five when he won the heavyweight crown. Some people are late bloomers.
- Morrow--Someone's got to take the blame, little sister, and it isn't gonna be me.
