You continue on your tour of the Kartyn'dyryso lands. However, the last thing you expect is to have a K'd materialize out
of mid air onto the path in front of you. Coughing you wave your hand in from of
your face in hopes of waving away some of the brimstone smoke that accompanied the
K'd's appearance.
There's a blink of golden orange eyes as the buck looks up at you. "Oh, my apologies.."
He says quietly, "I didn't mean to pop into your path.."
"Actually, Demonportal, we were looking for you. We just visited the twins,
and Amethystlover and Emeraldbard. You're next, so we figured we might as well see
if we could find you before heading back.."
The blue buck blinks again, then studies you a moment longer. "Oh, well greetings
then. I'm Demonportal, as Guide mentioned."
It's your turn to blink. How did such a mild sounding creature get a name like Demonportal?
Seeing the reaction to his name, the K'd explains. "The portal is in reference
to my rather unique ability, that to portal.. The beginning is undoubtedly a reference
to my rather unique traits.." He pauses there, and twitches his tail as if to
draw attention to it.
If that was his aim, it certainly worked. You study Demonportal's spaded tail with
surprise. From what you've seen that's hardly a average K'd tail. "Oh.."
Is about all you can say to that.
The blue buck nods. "Yes, so I suspect you'll be moving on.."
"So Acidthorn isn't around?" Guide asks absently.
"Well.." The blue K'd's sounds rather reluctant to continue. "She is around, but I'm not sure you really want to visit with her at the moment. You know how she is, she's in one of her moods. It's really just best to leave her alone while she's like this."
"You have a point there.." Guide says, "Well, let her know we asked about her."
Demonportal nods in reply. "Will do."
"My thanks for the thought, Guide and Demonportal, but there's really no need." A quiet female voice comments from behind you. A white K'd with blood red paws lies down a short distance from the place you stand. "I heard you perfectly well.."
"Feeling better?" Asks the spade tailed male with concern.
"Much.. I guess I just needed some time to enjoy nature.." A dry chuckle accompanies this remark.
"Starting without me? Pity... Then again, some of these wandering mortal types are so boring. Maybe I haven't missed much after all?"
Yet another K'd makes an appearance, this one a large female, mostly black in color, but with red tipped paws, stomach, and a few red stripes on her back and rear legs.
She's followed closely by another male, this one with multilayered brown coloring that darkens towards his back and lightens towards his belly. Something about him is slightly different from the other K'd you've met, but you can't put your finger on exactly what.
" Darknessblaze." The female introduces herself on noticing your study of her, then glances towards Guide as if inquiring about the answer to her last comment.
" It has been rather tame, really." Guide replies, sounding faintly amused.
"Pity." Is all Darknessblaze has to say in reply.
The other new K'd speaks up at this point, nodding in your direction hard enough to make his ears bob. "Cheerguardian," he introduces himself with a smile.
You and Guide spend awhile longer chatting with the K'd before moving on... Well, if you describe talking as listening to Demonportal and Guide chat, with the occasional comment from Darknessblaze and Cheerguardian...
