You see the next Raveen Kat you're destined to meet well before you reach him. The mostly black male would blend rather well with the shadows he's curled up in if not for his double pair of wings, which appear to be made of fire.
As you edge closer, reluctant to sneak up on a creature of such size. You're not even attempting to be quiet as you move forward. You'd really rather not startle him. With the noise you're making he couldn't possibly be that deep of a sleeper, but it never hurt to be careful, right?
You're proven correct as a few steps from him, the orange on black eyes of the Raveen slide open to study you. After a giant yawn and a long, languid stretch he shows more interest in your person.
"Ah, greetings wanderer, " a clearly amused tenor. "Guide, you realize this one makes more noise than Onraa and Sepultura in one of their spats, don't you?"
The blue fox, your guide and guardian on your trip through this mystical realm, nods in agreement. He also, you notice, declines to come to your defense even though it must have been more than obvious what you were doing. You don't usually lift your feet that high when you walk. Certainly he realized you weren't usually so...
Oh. Your slight ire disappears a moment later, something in the Kat's manner suggests that he knew full well you were coming from a long distance back. It was your caution he was laughing at, not necessarily your clumsiness. His next comment confirms your guess.
"Ah well, at least those of us that are no danger won't find any unwelcome intrusions." He smiles in such a way to make you wonder if, among his own kind, he's a bit of a flirt.
There's a long moment of silence, which apparently only you find awkward. Guide and the black Raveen seem perfectly at ease. Then Guide breaks the silence with a little cough, and a pointed look directed at your newest fiery acquaintance.
"Ah, those introductions you're so terribly fond of, how careless of me." The Kat's attempt at a apologetic tone falls a little flat. Then again, it could just be that Guide's pointed look has turned into more of a direct glare.
With another grin, this one decidedly unrepentant, the still unnamed Kat stands and sweeps into a flashy bow. The motion, though obviously a practiced one, is enough to make you back up a step. Smooth as it is, it's also accompanied by a flair of his fiery wings, and you had no wish to test their temperature yourself.
"I am Rynduuk, Blue Fire WoR, son of Iawen and Zjarmuu of the Pride of Dark Embers. You may have met my esteemed father, also a WoR, further up the path. I have no mate myself, as I've only recently reached my full growth. However, my Guardian, the great Fin Covered Eel, is always with me. It's company is merely one of the talents the WoR possess... "
" I wanted an introduction for the wanderer, not your life history, " Guide breaks in with a roll of his eyes. However, even the bob of his head doesn't entirely hide the small curl to the corner of his lips.
"Well, I hoped what I had missed in promptness I could make up in detail." He flashes another of those entirely unrepentant grins.
"Fine, whatever, " Guide dismisses the observation with a wave of one paw. "I think you've overwhelmed the wanderer with information though." He glances at you, looking amused.
You smile sheepishly, admitting with your expression that some of those terms went right over your head.
Runduuk shifts forward to study you with an expression of concern that's completely ruined by the lingering grin. "Well, my apologies. I'll give you time to recover from this terrible endeavor as you pace to the home of the next Raveen."
Without waiting for a word from either you or Guide, the great fiery wings snap open and Rynduuk leaps into the sky, dodging branches as he goes.
Guide rolls his eyes again, "That's Rynduuk for you, completely useless at conversation once his limited supply of witty introduction banter is exhausted."
