Angel
Fire East, by Terry Brooks. |
Terry
Brooks creates a wonderful conclusion to his
amazing journey through the lives of John Ross
and Nest Freemark which he began in Running
with the Demon and continued in A Knight
of the Word. In Brooks's world, the Knights
of the Word do battle with the forces of the Void
to prevent the world's destruction. |
Nest
Freemark's quiet life is strangely interrupted
when Findo Gask, an ancient demon, comes asking
for John Ross. But Nest hasn't seen the Knight of
the Word in years...until he shows up at her
doorstep with a mysterious young boy who won't
speak. This boy is a gypsy-morph, a strange
combination of magics that Ross is trying to
unlock, and he believes that Nest holds the key.
And another face from Nest's past surfaces,
Bennet Scott, now a drug-addict with a young
daughter. As demons begin to close a web around
Nest and her visitors, tensions mount and the
endless war between the Word and the Void comes
to a head... |
Angel
Fire East completes Terry Brooks's modern
fantasy trilogy, dealing with the epic war
between good and evil, the Word and the Void. And
it does this in a marvelous way, with believable
characters and a sharp plot, all set within the
Christmas season. |
