You attack, but for some reason a thought of pitty for the poor little guy crosses your mind. This slight distraction makes your attack unsuccessful and Lars is able to block it.
You can now either hit his outstretched arm to win the game, attack his defenseless body to win the game, or defend since his arm is out and quite possibly ready to attack.
