The Olympian Appetites Bar and Grill

(Elvis Undead)

The paunchy man with the flat top orders more beer.

"And s'more hot wings, darlin'. Thank you, Thank you very much."

he fingers his gold rings and realigns his crotch.

"They don't bug anybody the way they bug me. No one

accuses their grandma of staging her own death.

I'm dead, Jim. But I'm forced to wander this Earth

'till they let me rest."

The mop headed man spits at an empty mirror, orders more shots,

and pulls his leather pants up. "No one knows you like your fans,

man. They gave you eternal life. You're an enigma; it's higher than godhood."

"I'm not vain, man. You think she'd sleep with me?"

"Only if she knew who you were."

The waitress appears through the sudden brimstone and laughter, but finds no one to accept the beer and wings, only a gold ring and a hotel room key.
