Long, long ago, before the birth of Timmorn Yellow-Eyes, before Voll led his follower's to their ill-fated seclusion inside Blue Mountain, a group of Firstborn and High Ones refused to abandon their palace-ship despite the onset of "The Great Whitecold." Gradually the humans that had brought the first, gentle firstcomers to their knees moved to the south, fleeing the age of ice as much as they followed their slowly changing demons. Finally the last elves were alone in the cold, nursing their magical powers as best they could in the shadow of the true Palace.
Despite the growing skill of the elves in their once-glorious magics, the wisest of the group saw that they could not protect themselves in time. So, pooling their powers together they drew the finest stone from the Frozen Mountains; a great quantity of it- so that they could shape an abode sturdy and unwavering in the even the greatest of storms. The end result was a beautiful, moving sculpture of a home that impressed even the cynical and fading High Ones. There were great halls, pieces of art, and even at the topmost point a spacious garden domed with crystal to allow the nourishing sunlight in.
But still the elves knew that something was missing; there was a flaw in their masterpiece. The cold was only worstening, penetrating even the thick stone walls of the elfin abode. Finally the council of wisdom found the solution- to escape the whitecold they would rise above it, soaring through the skies in the magical stone sculpture. But even with the aid of the elves returning magic they could not do it alone; it would require constant catatonia for all of them. So, a band of brave and strong firstborn ventured out into the cold, intent on finding the one thing that would provide them with the power they would need to send their home into the skies- the palace.
The journey was full of hardships, and some joined the palace far sooner than the rest would. But the end certainly did justify the means, for the surviving adventurers returned to their comrades with more than enough magical crystal to float the magical sculpture. Jylekk, the firstborn who'd risen to lead those brave few who ventured to meet the cold, rose to become benevolent lord over his swiftly growing people. The most cynical and starsick of the High Ones volunteered themselves to catatonia, and the palace crystal was divided amongst them. Some of the remaining crystal, and there was a great deal of the stuff, was shaped into an intricate, magic-augmenting throne, meant for the Lord. Finally he ordered the sleeping High Ones to float the elfin abode; it rose into the sky, weightless, and so it was named SkyHaven.
But like all things, this glorious peace could not last. One elf grew restless- a Firstborn maiden named Midhei. She was the best Healer in all of SkyHaven, yet that was only one of her many powers. Perhaps only the oldest of the sky-dwellers can remember what caused this change in the Firstobrn healer, but all the generations know it's effects now. Midhei was absent from SkyHaven for quite a long time, and when she returned she brought with her a multitude of extremely powerful magics- sadly, she refused to use her great healing magics, and now most believe she can't do it. She'd honed her powers to an extremely high level, and had developed her infamous iron will. It was revealed that Midhei knew how to anti-heal, and then how to black-send.. Perhaps most horrifying of all was that fact that this pain-giver lusted after the throne, and would stop at nothing to achieve her goal.
Late one night when most of SkyHaven slept Midhei confronted Jylekk in his throne room. All of his attendants had retired to their quarters, leaving the lord of Skyhaven and the evil magic-user to be alone. Midhei made her intentions of takeover very clear, and Jylekk became enraged. The two locked in psychic battle, but despite the aid he received from his throne Jylekk was easily defeated by Midhei. Her opponents will obviously crushed, the anti-healer produced a tiny gem shaped from the original palace and sealed Master Jylekks broken spirit within it.
The next morning a great sadness filled the halls. The beloved lord of SkyHaven had taken grievously ill; his breath still came and his heart still beat but his spirit had flown elsewhere. No one knew just what had happened to the kindly firstborn. Soon after Master Jylekk fell comatose many of the elders rose to fill his vacated position. To see who would become the next master of SkyHaven a contest of wills was planned since Jylekk had no children of his own.
The contest was long and rigorous, spanning many eights of days, but in the end she who stole Jylekks spirit rose to claim the throne. Appointing her Celestial Elite, Midhei began her sovereign rule over SkyHaven. There are currently mixed feelings over SkyHavens current lord, but all who opposed her will soon learn obedience in the harshest of ways.
Despite Midheis iron fist none can deny that SkyHaven has risen to new heights(pun intended) during her reign. The Dark Firstborn has led her people for over ten millennia, and shows no sign of losing her grip.
