Sending: Solren is adept at sending, but her need for guile limits her use of it.

Black Sending: She can also black send, causing mental anguish, but she has had few occasions to use it. She is not nearly as skilled as her sister is.

Levitation: As with all SkyHaveners, Solren is a skilled floater, although she prefers to levitate other objects and people rather than herself. She can take control of the flight of another elf, but again, she has had rare cause to use this ability.

Rockshaping: Solren has the skill of a master Rockshaper, and her love of the craft is one of her more redeeming qualities. She chose not to take the position of master Rockshaper as she did not want to serve anyone's purposes but her own. Over the millennia, she has helped to remove all of the lingering impurities in the rock of SkyHaven. She has also, on more than one occasion, changed the decor of SkyHaven to keep the SkyHaveners from becoming bored with their floating home.

Mundane Skills:

Manipulation: Solren is extremely skilled at manipulating others to her whim. It is her interest in controlling other elves' relationships that has kept her from becoming bored and jaded over the millennia. There are certain elves who can and do avoid her machinations, Midhei being one of them, but it can be very difficult avoid her traps.

Deception: Solren is a skilled deceiver, but she does not always find it possible or necessary to lie.

Art: Solren has an eye for beauty and is appreciative of it in all its forms, but she will only apply her talent at rockshaping. She has helped many of SkyHavens other rockshapers hone their skill and develop their own artistic style.

Clothing:

Numerous long and voluminous gowns of soft, sheer fabrics. Most are either off the shoulder or sleeveless. She prefers intermediate shades of blue/violet and has a matching pair of slippers for each dress. She is extremely aware of her appearance and strives to keep herself perfect.

History:

Solren is the younger sister of the Mistress of SkyHaven. She was born eight turns after Midhei's disappearance. She was an active and friendly child, who avoided even a moment's boredom. Being born within the confines of SkyHaven, this was a difficult task and Solren's attention moved to the Outside, the realm of the Celestial Elite. It was while playing on one of their Aeries that she discovered her rockshaping ability. In order to perfect her talent, Solren's parents eagerly brought their daughter back in from the savage world they had left Outside. The joy and the art of rockshaping has filled her ever since.

Upon Midhei's return, she and Solren were kept apart by their parents, who sensed the change in their Firstborn child. Neither sister has made the effort to get to know the other beyond a passing acknowledgement of their relationship. Solren suspected something was amiss with the fall of Master Jylekk, but did nothing to confirm or deny her suspicions or confront her sister.

Her years spent on the Outside now forgotten Solren strives to fight the boredom of her confined existence. She keeps herself entertained by manipulating the emotions of her fellow SkyHaveners. She met her match in Nathlyn. The two were lovemates, but struggled constantly for control of the relationship. Determined to possess her, Nathlyn all but forced their Recognition, subjugating Solren's soul to his will. Beaten but not broken, Solren eventually fought back and used Nathlyn's love to defeat him. Fearing for Nathlyn's sanity, Midhei made him a Sleeper and now his fireshaping abilities augment Flame's.

Disgusted by her moment of weakness and seeing her daughter the embodiment of it, Solren is extremely controlling and condescending toward Eslan. She takes pleasure in manipulating Eslan's two combative lifemates Borrek and Kylarr. Despite this, Solren is close only with her daughter.

Personality:

Solren's one fear is to become so bored and jaded that she follows in her parents footsteps and willingly becomes a catatonic Sleeper. She has done unwise things in the past in an effort to keep the boredom at bay, although she later regrets some of her actions. She is selfish and a perfectionist, but these qualities are well hidden by her friendly temperament.
