For those who don't know me...

...and those who want to know more!

Name: Jo Thomas a.k.a. JT, Foghorn, The13thValkyrie, Jorunn Bloodaxe, DeathsAngel, Xena, Zorro,

Age: immortal... it's part of being a valkyrie.

Height: 5'8", unless I'm wearing the 3 inch heels.

Hair/Eyes: both originally brown, the hair now varies from dark red through to light brown.

Distinguishing features: many earings, one eyebrow ring, one navel ring, manic grin, loud voice.

Current mission: as of September, an MSc In Mineral Deposit Evaluation at Imperial College.
(Explanation for Geology Virgins: if the degree I've just finished was "Oh look it's a rock", then this is "oh look it's a rock... and it has some gold/diamonds/copper etc. in it". Okay?)

Likes: booze (brandy sours especially), blokes (okay, one in particular), chocolate, bikes, sci-fi, loud music, fencing, Arsenal FC, Bath RFC, the Green Bay Packers,... but not always in that order!!

Dislikes: EXAMS, Tottenham Hotspur FC, Gloucester RFC, losing at N64 deathmatches, my feet, running out of mayo, mapping projects

Hmmm... I guess you want a little more... oh okay then, just this once.
I was born at an early age to parents... and as far as I can make out, that was the last time I was normal or conventional. Having spent most of my life living in a small town in the Bermuda Triangle of Gloucestershire, I have just spent three years at Portsmouth terrorising the local population and getting an honours degree in Geology. For current activities, see above.
Why Geology?... errr... it's kind of strange really... I've just always liked the plate tectonics/volcanoes/earthquakes stuff, and hey... it was that or an Art degree, and I know which one I prefer! Also... what other degree gives you the chance to spend large chunks of weekend and holiday away in caravans or hotels, out all day getting, wet, muddy, cold, tired, bruised, cut off by the tides, sunburned, windburned, attacked by bogs and singing Brittany Spears songs(don't ask)?!?! No really, it's a laugh, and one day when I sort out some photos for this site, I might just put a few ones from fieldwork on here.

Fencing? hey, I get to run around with a sword!!!

What else do you need to know? I'd played rugby on and off for 4 years and I fancied a change. Music? Well as you might have guessed i'm a "little" bit of a Prodigy fan, but I also like the Propellerheads, the Chemical Brothers, Texas, Robbie Williams(!) and Andy M has converted me to "A" and their album "How Ace Are Buildings" ... I'll listen to pretty much anything. Just NO country and western, OKAY?!!

Yes, that's right, I like computer games. I used to own (well, co-own with my mate Si) a N64 and could quite happily spend all night playing Lylat Wars or Goldeneye, especially the multiplayer/Deathmatch games. Due to an obscene amount of practice I *used* to be quite good, which is pretty amazing considering the heights of mediocrity that I used to achieve. Now I have my own funky PC, Age of Empires (both the original and II, all expansions) gets a fair bashing at regular intervals, as does Sim City 3000 (UK ed). Megalomanic, moi?

Oh, and then there's my love of Monty Python...
