For the Spouses

Let's not forget the spouses who stand behind the soldiers that must live everyday for their country. These men and women that love their warrior husbands and wives. These people deserve recognition, too. They help keep up the morale. They are some of the ones that most fear when their loved ones go off to war. They are the ones that must help pick up the pieces if their loved ones die in the course of duty. They are the ones that these warriors fight for, live for, and die for. They are the home blood, heart and soul. They are the spouses of the Military.
This is for you. Alas, I did not write it, either. When GOD Created A Military Wife
When the good Lord was creating Military wives He was into His sixth day of overtime and an angel appeared and said, "You're having a lot of trouble with this one. What's wrong with the standard model?"
And the Lord said, "Have you read the specs on this order? She has to:
* Be completely independent, but be sponsored to be on base.
* Have the qualities of BOTH mother & father during field problems.
* Run on black coffee.
* Be able to handle flu and move all her worldly possessions.
* Have a kiss that can cure anything from a child's broken valantine to a husband's weary day.
* Have the patience of a saint when waiting for her husband to come home.
* And have 6 pair of hands."
......The angel shook her head slowly and said, "Six pair of hands...no way".
But the Lord said, "Don't worry, we'll make other military wives to help. Besides, it's not the hands that are causing the problem. It's the heart that must swell with pride in her husband, sustain the ache of separation, beat on soundly when it's too tired to do so, and large enough to understand when she doesn't, and say I love you regardless."
"Lord," said the angel, touching His sleeve gently, "come to bed. Tomorrow..."
"I can't," said the Lord. "I'm too close to creating something unique. Already I have one that heals herself when she's sick, can feed three house guests stuck in the area because of bad weather, and can wave good-bye to her husband from a pier or a runway and understand that it's important to the country that he leaves."
The angel circled the model of a Military wife very slowly. "It's far too soft," she sighed.
"But, tough," said the Lord excitedly. "You can't imagine what this woman can do or endure."
"Can it think?" asked the angel.
"Can it think! It can convert 1400 to 2pm!"
Finally, the angel bent over and ran her finger across the cheek.
"There's a leak," she pronounced. "I told you, You were trying to put too much into this model".
"It's not a leak," said the Lord. "It's a tear".
"What's it for?"
"It's for joy, sadness, disappointment, pain, loneliness, and pride."
"You're a genius!" cried the angel.

The Lord looked somber and said "I didn't put it there. "
