If there's one thing I won't forget for a long time,it's the day when I met the person who would soon be my best friend. I'd been sitting at my usual table in the cafeteria, doodling in my notebook, when I heard someone ask me if the seat next to me was taken. When she finished and I responded, she sat down and introduced herself as Laura. Once I told her who I was,she asked me if I knew a lot of people as she was new to this school and she hadn't had a chance to talk to many people yet. Because I was rather busy with my afterschool activities,I had to tell her that I didn't know too many people either. Once that was done, she then asked me what I did that kept me so busy,to which I replied that I volunteered at a senior citizen's place along with being a student at a local horseback riding school.
When that was said and done, she asked me if I could direct her to someone who might be able to help her more, which I did. Once that was accomplished, she returned to the table soo after I had helped her, that was due to the fact that the person I referred her to treated her rather unkindly because of the fact that she had been associating with me. Because of that,I didn't have the heart to turn her away again. When I offered to help her by taking her to a place which would probably be more helpful, that act was the one which proved to be the beginning of our friendship.
