Would you do it? What would you give to be Sarah? Your baby brother?
We all know about Labyrinth, don't we, hmmmmm? It's quite a character list. Our heroine, Sarah, the dreaming fifteen year old who has to babysit her little brother Toby once too often for her fancy. Then there's Jareth, the Goblin King, who takes Toby when Sarah says just the right thing. We also have Hoggle, the greedy dwarf whom Sarah befriends. Sarah also meets Ludo, the friendly rock-calling monster, and Sir Didymus, the brave fox.
So poor Sarah has thirteen hours to get to the castle beyond the Goblin City, right in the center of the Labyrinth. If she doesn't, Jareth will turn Toby into a goblin. She does make it. Once again, she finds the words and so gets Toby back.
Quite a story. One girl's journey to adulthood? A scary dream, nothing more? What do you think?
