Promotion

With a major motion picture comes merchandising. Travel to Marvel Comics who released a three issue mini-series adapting the film. The comics weren't bad and the covers were truly excellent. I picked up all three issues for a quarter each. Fleer released a trading card set depicting the movie Dune. I have just purchased a set and it was definitely worth it. Since the cards were made to be released in conjunction with the film, the cards were produced before the final cut of the film was made. Some of the cards in the set depict scenes that were cut from the final release and it was a joy to finally see them. There was a line of toys released by LJN and I foolishly passed up purchasing four of them last year. I'm sure that there were many other items released in conjunction with the film.
