The realism of Frank Herbert's creation is so great that people want to be a
part of it. This want spawned many games that enable us to interact in the world of Dune.
If you've ever played Command & Conquer, you should try playing Dune II. This is where
those guys from Westwood Studios first used that game format. It is also available on the
Sega Genesis as Dune: The Battle For Arrakis. Visit both of these sites. Virgin
Interactive also released a PC version of Dune that followed the movie very closely, it is
also very enjoyable to play. Avalon Hill made a board game of Dune in 1979 and by all
accounts it was very good. Unfortunately it has been out of print for some time and I would
really like to get my hands on a copy. I have just spoken to someone who thinks he has a
copy of the game and it may be added to my collection very soon. In more recent news, Five
Rings Publishing along with Last Unicorn Games has
released a Collectible Card Game (CCG) version of Dune. There are six different decks, Atreides, Harkonnen,
Corinno, Fremen, Sisterhood
and Guild. I have never played a CCG before and find the rules very confusing. I have
played the game several times now and am confident that I understand the game. If anyone has
questions on how to play, please E-mail me and I'll try my best to answer your questions.
