History of Talibane
Talibane was born on the east coast of the old American Empire. He grew up with the other members of his litter in a roaming pack of werebeasts. The wolves hunted throughout the New England area, slaying supernatural creatures and several psi-stalker packs. Talibane's personality and strength were noticed quickly in the pack; he became a subordinate to his strongest brother.
A few months before maturity, Talibane was summoned by an evil arcanist as an assassin. The young werebeast fulfilled his duty of the mystic contract, slaying an upstart mage whom the arcanist despised. Talibane's demeanor and charm took the arcanist by surprise. The arcanist offered a position to Talibane, serving as an assassin. The young werewolf, angered by being manipulated, lied and agreed to the alliance; he was taught the rudimentary techniques of assassination. Talibane enjoyed the skill required to pull off a covert kill but remained angered at his past manipulation. With three kills under his belt, Talibane was awarded a few weapons and armor by his arcanist employer. Soon the arcanist began telling Talibane of other werebeasts that had become incredibly powerful through their exploits. With a smile, the arcanist looked at Talibane, "But that will take time. Maybe in a few more years, pup." The arcanist let his voice and the conversation trail off as he walked away. Two kills later, Talibane decided to end the charade. The werebeast returned from his last job late, arriving at breakfast. The arcanist and his two apprentices received the wolf at the table. Talibane feigned gratefulness at his meager payment of credits at the feet of the arcanist. Three bites and five claw rakes later, Talibane left the residence of his former master with his weaponry, armor, and Shadow, the arcanist's horse.
Now an adult, Talibane decided not to return to his pack. He figured he would probably become more powerful as an assassin then he would as a pack subordinate. Talibane still dreads the thought of being summoned again. His goal is to become so powerful that he could punish any who would dare summon him; he has heard stories from his former master and the apprentices of werebeasts achieving god-like powers. Talibane has found the pursuit of magic fascinating but frustrating; his natural magical abilities are limited and he is illiterate. He has recently joined a mercenary company of like-minded prey who appear almost as ambitious as Talibane. Despite his werewolf instincts, Talibane has found the humans and elves to be good companions and likeable.
Talibane has taken the professional name "Diamond." He is not widely known yet as an assassin; his current adventuring-mercenary occupation takes too much of his time. He truly likes the Gun Brother and the Ninja Cyborg, admiring their skills as assassins with different methods of operation, and the magical knowledge of the Scathach. The prideful werebeast feels his metamorphosis disguises and stealth are superior to the more forceful, direct assassin MOs of his companions, but feels humble in comparison to the magic of their druid companion.
