Behold one of the most amazing frauds in history: The Fiji Mermaid. Created by P.T. Barnum, this shrivled specimen (really the top half of a monkey and the body of a fish cleverly sewn together) was put on display to the public, for a small fee of 25 cents of course. Today, there are several Fiji Mermaids still in existence.
