The Lamia by Colurastes

The shards of light that flowed
Inwards from the glancing plain
Licked and glistered off the serpent's hide
Lain torpid in a ruddy hail of sparks.

Timeless eyes
Lusting from lustre,
Slanting anguine through spitting aether.
A slender chin,
Soft-cradled in the childlike paws,
Thrusting forward just a hint of tongue
To stretch the innocent smile.
Ruby in redness: lips
Fervent, higher than the pulsing neck,
Long and winding to a downy, tawny breast,
Supporting lengths of plaited opal,
Shifting, undulating pearl,
In ceaseless waves of crepitating light.

Two-faced godlet!
Coiled before the Gates of Limbo.
Endless rays
Marbling your scales.
I see you in a hazy distance.
Cymophane! Ephemerale!
Lamia!
Of a languorous devouring.
