The 86th Floor
Doc Savage In French

Click here to see the history and future enhancements I am planning for this site.

Links

Here are a few links for great sites :

Doc Savage links

  • Chris Kalb's 86th Floor. My favorite and a most comprehensive site. Chris used to host the very pages you are currently visiting. Without him, you would certainly not be looking at these pages.
  • Jeff Sines' Doc Savage Web site used to have all the pulps and paperback covers, as well as tons of other goodies. Unfortunately, it does not seem to be online anymore. You can however again join the Doc Savage Web Ring
  • Do not miss Cat's Page for Doc Savage in French site. While my site presents mostly factual information on Doc in French, Cat's site has more literary information. GO THERE !
  • Christian Vanderhaegen has started the ambitious project of translating in french all the adventures that had not been translated yet by Marabout or Lefrancq. You can find the results of his work, in chronological order on his site.
  • Rob Smalley's The Supreme Adventurer has listings for all foreign editions of Doc savage known to man. This site makes me really jealous, as I originally wanted to do the same, but gave up for I could not find enough information. And Rob has cover scans for a lot of these alien editions.
  • Thomas Rau's Das ist Doc Savage (this is Doc savage) is a comprehensive page about german editions of Doc Savage. There are even more of them than there are french ones and Thomas has done quite a good job putting all this information together.
Bob Morane links

Bob Morane is a french hero that has many connections to Doc Savage. First, they both are always on the road, trying to save widows and orphans, and also sometimes the world itself. Second, they have been published in the same collection already three times (Marabout, Corgi, Lefrancq). Third, they amount to approximately the same number of stories (~ 190).
Bob Morane was created by the belgian writer Henri Vernes (pen name) in 1953, and new stories continue to be published. Bob Morane has been published in a lot of foreign languages (14 !) and an animated series has revived his myth in 1998.

  • Bob Morane's forum site keeps all fans informed.
  • Dominique Samson's official site has a lot of stuff, including listings of known foreign editions, cover scans and articles from Bob's fanzine "Reflet". Dominique is also operating a Bob Morane mailing list.
  • Parazythum's attic is an unconventional and lively site. One of Gilles' objective is to gather all the different Bob Morane cover pictures - so check his site frequently to see how far his quest is progressing.
 Doctor Who links

Another great Doc'. Yes, I love collecting books. As Doc and Bob only run a meager 190 stories each, a whole set of Doctor Who novelisations, New and Missing Adventures comprises more than 300 books, not including all the non-fictional stuff.

  • The Mother of all sites, Dr Siobahn Morgan's Doctor Who Home Page. Siobahn maintains the FAQ and the reference FTP site. The site has lots of sorted links, making it my favourite starting point.
  • Output Gallifrey is one of the most comprehensive Dr Who site on the Web.

  •
Red Dwarf links

Another english cult SF series : I am also a great fan of Red Dwarf. Only 4 novels have been published, so completing my collection was an easy tasks..

  • Let the smeg be with you. One of the most complete sites, Red Dwarf gives a complete view over that cult series.

ELCA link

LK ? What's that ? It is the company that employs me. ELCA develops software systems in a many domains, mostly specifically tailored for our customers needs. ELCA 's headquarters are located in Lausanne, in the french speaking part of Switzerland.
