*"First Person Shooter", 7x13*

Hey everyone. Sorry for not posting right away. I TOTALLY loved this episode. Mulder and Scully were way in character, plus there was some great, typical Male/Female gender bias and stereotyping, which got disproved, as always. Excellent!! There were some very funny scenes as well, especially where Mulder says "I don't know about you, Scully, but I suddenly have this urge to beat the crap out of something..." followed by a lovely smile. Then when Scully sees Mulder in the virtual reality game, and she tells Phoebe that he's "getting his ya-ya's out." I just started cracking up and couldn't stop.

On top of the absolute hysterical nature of this ep, Mulder and Scully did deal with a very common issue in the work place. A woman in a man's world is a hard person to be, and Phoebe and Scully could totally relate here. Mulder was a total, typical male, especially with the chick who's body got scanned for the game. Scully kept him in check, though, but it seems that we're getting mixed signals from our two heroes. In other eps, Scully seeems to get rather jealous when Mulder checks out other women. Here, she seemed more exasperated that the woman was all he was concentrating on when the case needed solving.

However, in the end of the ep when Mulder goes into the game to kill the Goddess, and ends up stuck between a rock and a hard place, Scully comes in and kicks ass. She beats the crap out of the woman, and Mulder gets his butt saved once again. Great show of who can really kick ass - and it doesn't always have to be the guy who wins, either. Guys, keep this is mind!! This ep gets a HUGE rating in my book...right up there with my faves...

Come back for more next week, and please feel free to send comments in as well! 1
