*"Theef", 7x14*

"You always keep me guessing..." Mulder's words set the theme for the entire episode. Funny how in this one, Scully believed, and shit still happened to her! I think we'd better get to see some 'shipper action in the next few episodes, or at least see them dealing with it, because the way Mulder said that one little phrase over and over again was very suggestive of other stuff that should be going on. Besides that fact that he was obviously very happy, though surprised, that Scully beat him to his own theories a few times here.

I think the "lost daughter" aspect of this episode was also very well done. Emily, and her effect on Scully, played in very well here, and Mulder also picked up on it really well. At the end, where he guesses that she was thinking how Peattie could have saved his daughter, and that's why he was so bitter, is the best representation of this. I think Scully still has issues that she never put to rest over that. She feels that somehow, someway, she should have been able to save her little girl, but in reality was not able to, and she knows this. Mulder picked up on her guilt, probably because he saw it in himself for so long, and now his demons are gone. Maybe he feels that, since he was ableto rid himself of those, he can help scully get rid of her own. Who knows? Maybe this is where our characters will end up at the end of the series...with fewer demons, and more open to each other. It's worth hoping for!!

Come back for more next week, and please feel free to send comments in as well! Make sure to watch next week's ep, "En Ami"...good, good stuff... 1
