Hehehehehe... Bagman! DeMatteis cracks me up! This issue was hilarious, with the Grizzly, Gibbon, White Rabbit (what were they thinking?) and Peter Parker... BAGMAN!!! (hehehe) Ohboy! If all the issues of "Identity Crisis" are like this, I'll die laughing. Still, through all the humor, J.M. still managed to keep the drama with the scence with Anna and M.J. "Through the Looking Glass" gets ****. That apperance by Bagman helped the score a lot! (hehehe)
I'm sure all of you who have read all of the other Identity Crisis reviews know what the score is, but allow me to explain. I admit, at first I thought I wouldn't like good ol' Prodigy, but he's cool after all. I have a few things to say though. 1) How did MJ make a bullet-proof suit? 2) Who is that jigsaw guy? A non-prize (no-prize is probably copyrighted) to anyone who tells me. To sum up, good story, good art, "Prodigy" gets **** (suprise!). Now, how did they come up with that creative story title?
ARRRRG! J.M. is GONE! FOREVER! NOOOOOOooooooooo! Oh, well, Glen Greenberg is here to save the day. I liked his scripting in this issue. I hope he keeps it up. Anyway, I liked how Peter wraped things up, so that Spider-Man is free again. It was quite clever. The Conundrum guy was cool as well. I gotta wrap up, so I'll give "Man of the People" ***1/2.
Roger Stern joins the Spider-crew just in time for a new storyline. OOOOHHHH! I can't wait to see goblins whooping on each other! And I can't wait to see who this new Green Goblin is (my guess is Flash Thompson. No, really!). Hope they don't leave that particular plot lying in the dust for 5 years or so like so many others. "Goblins at the Gate Part 1: Survivor of the Big Lie!" will get ***. I've seen Luke Ross do better.
What happened to Luke Ross? His art doesn't have the same... well, power as it did before. I guess it got better at the fight scenes, but still... The story is good. Hobgoblin and Green Goblin haven't fought since... ever, if I heard correctly. And another villan is just about to discover Spidey's identity. Haven't heard that one before! I'll give "Spider in the Middle" ***.
It seems Luke got that extra ooompha back in the art. This issue was quite entertaining. The Green Goblin almost unmasked. Hobgoblin gone. Norman... well, he's Norman. It's a dern shame that they didn't reveal the Goblin's identity. I still think he's Flash, but I could be wrong. So, "Bad Buisness" gets ***1/2.
