Steve Segale & Chris Bachalo are the newbies on this title, and so far, I'm impressed. I didn't care mutch for Chris' work on "Generation X," but he's doin' good on Uncanny (maybe it's the inks). Anyway, on to the story. Sauron isn't the most interesting charactor in Marvel, but his apperance was still made interesting by good ol' Steve. I enjoyed the apperances by Cyclops, Phoenix, and Bishop (when are they coming back?). Well, I'll have to give "Prehistory" a ***. Now, if only they could stop Rogue from running away for once...
When I splurged for an issue of Alpha Flight, I thought it would be an actual two-part crossover. Instead, it was just the same story with a different perspective! >sigh< I guess it matters not. The story is good enough to read twice. I seriously hope Rogue doesn't loose her powers. That would suck! Well, to keep it brief (to late) the score for "North & South" is ***1/2.
Oh la la! The original X-Men, reunited. It's just like the old days. Actually, I'm to young to remember the old days. I ASSUME it's like the old days. Well, on to the plot. All I can say is that this whole Phoenix thingie is creeping me out. I don't blame Scott for callin' in the troops. I hope the situation is soon resolved. Anywho, I gotta rate. "Reunion" gets ***1/2.
What an odd little tale this is. Some freak with a robot bird, for no reason, drugs up a bunch of crows and sets them loose on a small town, claiming to summon a god, then lets his spirit out of his body in the form of a blackbird? Mr.Seagle, you are one odd little man. Still, I guess the oddness is the whole point of this little story. At least, it seems to be. Especially Dr. Agee's sister. EEEWWWW! Freaky! The two sub-in artists weren't to bad. So, I'll give "The Sky is Falling" ***.
BISHOP! BISH IS BACK IN COMICS! YAAAAAY! And he's in love with Deathbird? What the... This was a neat little sci-fi tale, filled with love(?) hate and violence. Very cool. Still, I haven't decided if I'll get that Team X 2000 thingie. My only complaint: that Karel guy wasn't much of an alien. He just had yellow skin for crying out loud! Anyway, "Lost is Space" is a good ***1/2.
No Bishop B-( Lots of Rogue B-)Rogue finally decides not to give up her powers. Besides, isn't that power-dampner thing Joseph made still around somewheres? Or did Bastion take it? Mystique is back as a villan, where she belongs. Her in X-Factor never made any sence to me. She did like Forge, but that's no reason to swich sides. Well, I see a bond growing between Rogue and Wolverine. Maybe a prelude to a relationship...? Anyways, "Power Play" will get ***1/2.
