"What Wiped Out the Dinosaurs? (non-fiction)"
[permanent link].
In this article, the conventional theory that an asteroid hitting the
earth wiped out the dinosaurs is reconsidered. Paleontologists
digging at a site known as the Hell Creek Formation discovered that
the type of fauna in the era just before the asteroid impact changed
dramatically, possibly from climate change. This could have made it
difficult for dinosaurs (both plant and meat eaters) to live; the
asteroid may have been the final straw that lead to their extinction.
