"The Shobies' Story"
[permanent link].
A quiet tale about a group of people (various kinds of humans,
aliens), who are peparing themselves to make the first interstellar
jump using 'Churten' technology. But as they make the jump, they find
themselves in conflict: have they made the jump? Where have they
jumped to? The resolution and their survival would require them to
group and work together as never before.

"Vaster than Empires and More Slow"
[permanent link].
A story about a crew of interstellar explorers who may not be quite
sane; who would be, after being isolated from the rest of humanity and
cooped up with the same people for ages. But in this crew, one person
was really a misfit; yet he may hold the key to surviving on a planet
they are exploring.

"The Wild Girls"
[permanent link].
A story that starts off slow but gradually builds to a good climax in
a tale set within a different but interesting social system. A group
of soldiers kidnaps some girls which are then sold except for a baby
who is left for dead. Bus as their lives develop and they become
valuable comodities, the dead baby will come back to haunt them all in
a chilling way.
