"The Next Photography Revolution" [permanent link]. An article that looks at the development of a the Foveon X3 chip that is used to take digital pictures. This chip can detect the red, green and blue components of light at each light detector spot. In contrast, current chips designed to capture light can only capture the red, greed, or blue component of light. This lets the Foveon X3 chip capture three times as much information, possibly making it the next breakthrough in the digital photography revolution.
