"Time of Day" [permanent link]. This is a story set in a time where software agents run many daily tasks and people go around with hardware 'jacks' to interface with the world. One person gets called to an isolated monastary to do a job on a jack but gets herself involved in something more serious when a praying monk discovers a way to get closer to God and possibly change the entire world via his interface.
