The film will not be called HALLOWEEN: LORD OF THE DEAD.
That is only the name of a fan script that is being touted as the real
thing.
Dick Warlock (The Shape in Halloween II) may have been
asked to return for Halloween 7.
Steve Miner, director for FRIDAY THE 13th II and III,
and HOUSE, may direct the film. He and Curtis also worked together on the
film FOREVER YOUNG. Recently Miner directed the pilot episode of Kevin
Williamson's television show, "Dawson's Creek."
Debra Hill (Co-writer and Co-Producer of Halloween I
and II) will also return in some capacity to Halloween 7.
Despire rumors to the contrary, Kevin Williamson states
that the film will NOT ignore Halloween 4-6, though it will focus primarly
on the events of Halloween I-II.

Halloween 7 may find Michael Myers heading to Chicago
in search of Laurie.
A spokeswoman for Dimension Films, which owns the Halloween
franchise and has Williamson tied to a $20 million, multi-picture deal,
says final casting decisions will be announced next month. (That was said
in November so it should be soon!)

Steve Miner (See info above for credits) has offically
been announced as the director of Halloween 7.
Halloween 7 will start production in late January. It
will NOT shoot in Salt Lake City (the site of Halloween 5: The Revenge
of Michael Myers).
12/17/97
The film will have a $15 million dollar budget, $3 million
of which will go to Jamie Lee Curtis. This budget is HUGE compared to the
other Halloween films.

Jamie Lee Curtis to return to scary roots
"With SCREAM 2 slashing through records at the box
office, it's no wonder the woman who started the slice 'em, dice 'em craze
is returning to her roots. In January, Jamie Lee Curtis goes before cameras
to begin shooting "Halloween: Revenge of Laurie Strode." Curtis
will play the headmistress of an all-girls school. Imagine the possibilities
there ... "
Shooting for the film will begin January 26th in Los
Angeles. Casting and location scouting began this week.

From The Official
Halloween Website: "HALLOWEEN 7 producer Paul Freeman spoke with
THE WEBSITE OF MICHAEL MYERS today. What can HALLOWEEN fans expect with
this new entry? Freeman says, "Since we have Jamie Lee Curtis back,
it must focus on Laurie Strode and her relationship with her brother Michael
Myers, and why he's come after her again." Casting has begun, and
it looks like a familiar shape may return to the series. "We'll see
Dick Warlock - evaluate him," Freeman reports. He must carefully see
how he looks today and see if he can believably work as the Shape. Although
he will not say it's impossible, it seems unlikely that George Wilbur will
return as Michael. "He's a little beyond middle age. You want Michael
Myers to be scary, don't you?!" Fans often seem disappointed with
HALLOWEEN 6, which was also produced by Freeman. Does Freeman have any
defense for THE CURSE OF MICHAEL MYERS? "No, there is no defense for
it," he simply said. He assured the problems and changes made to the
last installment had "nothing to do with our production team."
His company, Nightfall Productions, also confirmed that the working title
for now is HALLOWEEN: The Revenge of Laurie Strode. "

KNB is being considered for the special make-up effects
and Michael Myer's mask for the film. They also provided the effects for
HALLOWEEN 5, THE X-FILES MOVIE and FROM
DUSK TILL DAWN.
Location scouting continues on the film. A private school
will play a large role and several houses are also being looked at. The
crew is awaiting final script revisions and, while some minor casting has
been done, it is still in progress for the most part. No one has been officially
cast as The Shape yet.
Debra Hill (HALLOWEEN, HALLOWEEN II) MAY return as a
producer for HALLOWEEN 7.

Here's an interesting scoop from Larry Jordi. Make of
it what you will . . . "Dear Mark, I have a top secret scoop about
the actor of the shape for H7...it's none other than Dick Warlock form
H2...he wrote me this letter recently... Larry, I read on the Halloween
page that I wa being considered but no one from the production has, officially,
talked to me. Yes, I would like to do it again. Thanks, Dick W. Notice
how he said "Offically" in the content it's in?"

The
Official Halloween Site reports that final script revisions are being
conducted now between writer Robert Zappia and director Steve Miner. Casting
interviews for The Shape were conducted on Jan. 9th, but no casting announcement
has been made. The film will shoot for 8 weeks and the Official site says
that Debra Hill will not be involved.

Nightfall Productions continues to wait for the revised script to be completed. "Everything is going quite well," a spokesperson for Nightfall reports. Several key people are working on putting the film together. Paul Freeman says the first day of filming has been moved to Febuary 7th in Los Angeles, CA. The production company is unsure if the movie will be shot in widescreen "scope" format or the smaller "flat" format.

Daily Variety reports that Robert Forster, whose career was resurrected with Quentin Tarantino's JACKIE BROWN, is in talks with Dimension Films to join Jamie Lee Curtis in HALLOWEEN 7, or as Daily Variety reports some have been calling it -- "H20" in celebration of this being the 20th anniversary. Robert Forster previously played Max Cherry in JACKIE BROWN in which Roger Ebert (among others) has said he might receive an Academy Award nomination.

Nightfall Productions reports that the final shooting script is almost completed. Production has been postponed again until February 17th. Jamie Lee Curtis remains the only actress cast, although a few offers have been made. The "private school" location has been decided on...set construction there is already underway.
