The following facts are from an interview with "Jason vs. Freddy" screenwriter James Robinson, and give some insight on the new film.
There will be "an interesting spin on the two movies," which includes an exploration of the "psychology of dreams and how dreams and myths and folklore are something that we all carry through osmosis or retained memory."
The two characters will be portrayed "in the spirit in which they appeared in their early films," - Robinson feels that "Freddy is a lot more scary when he says less, when his intentions are less obvious and when he's dropping less wisecracks."
"There's a crucial point in the lives of young Jason and young Freddy [ ] which was the instigator for both their future careers in horror."
He describes Freddy as "the bogeyman," or "the ultimate evil," and Jason as "a force of nature [ ] beyond being good or bad."
His favourite Nightmares are the original and Dream Child, and favourite Friday was the second.
