A newsletter from Outpost Comics |
January 2004 |
News Moving right along - right into our first issue of the Now web based newsletter. Again, I want to thank everyone for your ongoing show of support and to remind you that this is your newsletter. If you would like to write an article, feel free to submit it. It has taken some time to get this off and running but we have managed. We still have some outstanding project to complete and we will complete them eventually as we strive to make the Online store a better market place for you our customers. Recently, we have added the Pre-Orders section to our listing and to our surprise, it was the biggest success of 2003. Our first item on the listing was the Japanese Imported, Star Trek Miniatures Series 2. With the pre-orders we manage to sell a little over 3000 units and are now in the back order stage. For those who are awaiting the arrival of your back orders, our next shipment will be in around February 15, 2004. On the website, any item that is in back order will remain with a zero inventory (or "Not in Stock") until the back orders are complete for that item. We promised those who ordered, to fill their orders first when they pre-ordered. For the future, we will continue with pre-orders but will make some changes to control the level of back orders and get the items out to you faster. Thanks for the great turnout.... and keep looking for new items in that section. |

Japanese Imports- UFO, Dragon ball 3, Dragon ball Fantastic Set (click on pictures above to see the sets) Comics- We are still adding new comics (golden age to present) to the online store. This will continue to take time due to the volume and the other projects we have going on. We will be adding pictures and should be finishing "A- titles" by the end of February and beginning with "B-titles". Also, look forward to seeing some CGC items for those serious collectors out there. |
Changes- We will be moving our Forum board from it's present location to a Yahoo/Geocities website. Since Outpost Comics is getting larger we need to conserve room for the site. The format might also change a little but it will still be the same for you to use and state your opinions and so on. Don't worry, we will fix all links to the site, but this is just a heads up so you don't freak out when it kicks you over to Geocities. Other movements possible, will be the Adult store to another location, to separate and keep adult material out of youngsters hands. This is still in the works. Payment Services- We are sorry to inform you that we no longer except payments from Citibank's C2it. No our fault, they have closed this service and have not mention anything about a replacement or even a new service. Anyhow, we will continue to except payments from Visa/MasterCard, Propay, Paypal, Payingfast, Bidpay and check and money orders. Auctions- Starting the end of January (early February) we will start the auction game again. Only we will not be using EBay as we had in the past (although, we might use eBay to attract new customers). We will be listing most of our items on Point Blank Auction. Contracts- Right now, TRT Communication (our parent company) is working on a contract with a Japanese company that sells Statues (Japanese Characters), Gundam Models and Japanese Edition Cards (Yu-Gi Oh!, Dragon Ball, etc.). This contract should be closed by the end of March 2004. Something new to look forward too. Anime is coming.... Yes, we will be introducing a large number of Anime DVDs to our selection late February. Finally, look for an increase to rich Graphic Novels in the upcoming months.
