In the freakin' abyss. Couln't really get out of it. I'd much rather stay home and run Heliogabulous, but thats not what the fates had in store for old Caleph this time. Not with the Zolkir remembering me at inappropriate moments, and the gods themselves kicking my butt. Anyway, for better or worse, I'm a member of the freakin' Zen Jihad, and I do what I'm told. Mostly.

The Jihad is dangerous - more dangerous than they know, but a cohesive unit we are not. And I'd better work to make us one, because this time, I dont think I'm getting out alone. I doubt we can become one, though. It seems more likely that the bickering will just get worse and worse. Look at us. The mages are fine, except that the spider gives me the creeps and Doomsday is a little mad. But a little mad is better than he's been in a while. I think the horse makes him feel better. Voodlemar has his head on right. Complains, but fights like a maniac when the need is there. Ditto for Owen. Its the new party members that bother me. Fusler seems crazy. I have to wonder if the Zolkir has possessed him or something. But I'll wonder that quietly. (I wonder if I'm going crazy, seeing the Zolkir under every rock, but he did say he was coming...)

The death-priest is an asset, but I think he's be just as happy if we all died. Strike that; I know he'd be just as happy if we all died. A paladin, even a fallen one, should be an asset in the abyss, but I'm afraid that to get out of this the party will have to do some things that might not sit well with a paladin. I don't think we're going to wander onto Orcus's plane, kill Orcus and Zengyi, and march home in triumph. We're going to have to get involved in some factional dispute and kick some limited butt at the right time. And the paladin could be a problem.

Lord Aster could be rock solid, but I think he might do something to get one of the other ideologues pissed off. If the jihad is going to come together, it wont be from the top down.

Anyway, here I am in the abyss; I'll just have to do my part until this is resolved. I just pray I'll eat at the Inn again some day...

I wonder if there are any good Inns in the abyss...
