Introductions

I wrap my shadow-self around me.
It rises,
The outline of long horns
Reach for the clouds.
A tail snakes out,
The soft tassel of hair
Brushing dust from strong hooves.
Powerful muscles roll,
As large hands flex.
She awakens.

Lifting the straight broad muzzle,
Opening brown eyes.
Mahogany fur ripples
In the cool breeze.
Obsidian hair flares
Along the thick neck.
Across the alien face
Play dapples of light.
Sun through the trees.

She strides along,
Carrying her honor,
Her courage,
Her heart,
As she carries her sword.
Large ears move forward,
She nods to people passing.
They sometimes carry different shadows too.

A dragon flutters its wings.
A wolf lopes by.
Some are near human.
Some are not.
Each is different.
Whispers pass among them.
And when eyes meet,
The minotaur shade,
Stands tall.
Proud and amiable.

"I am Kazanthi."
